Good afternoon
We leave for WDW in 16 days whoo hoo!!!
I have a question so our 2nd day we are planning on going to Ak in the morning and Epcot in the afternoon like we always have done. We have always got there right when AK opens so we can get on the rides that we want to do without fast pass since we do our fast passes for Soaring at Epcot (couple of others too)
Question i have heard the lines at Pandora been really long if I get there at 7am does anyone see a problem for us to get there right when they open at 7am and go straight there and get on the 2 rides? Which one should we do first vs the other?
Let me know
Thank you

Definitely do FOP first, the line builds super fast for that one. The wait times for both rides have been pretty crazy in the mornings. We did Navi with a FP (couldn't get FOP), and decided to wait until about 10:30 one night to do FOP, because it had dropped to about a 90 min wait (totally worth it btw).

I would get to the park ~1hour before opening and you should be able to get on one of the rides without too much of a wait (definitely do FoP first) - the lines build up pretty quick though and seem to peak that early/mid morning so there might be a hour+ wait for Navi River after you get of FoP.

I would think you would be able to get both rides in if you are planning 1/2 day at AK but not sure how much more you will be able to do, depending on when you plan to head to EPCOT - I would plan for ~3hr of time to do the two rides and could be more (or could be less if you hit it right)

The plan is to get there right at 7am and then stay till around lunch time. We have fast passes at Epcot at 1-2pm our first one is. So that we can get at least 4 hours there maybe more. Just wanted to make sure we get to ride our other rides we always ride too
But this is one day we dont have breakfast reservations

I had the same questions, except my date is in the very end of August. Touring plans seems to think we can get through both rides in less than an hour, with no fast pass at rope drop using morning EMH. Do you all think that is possible?? Touring plans says the crowd level at AK should only be a 2.

Don't listen to touring plans. Their info for Pandora has not been correct since pandora opened.

I would budget a little more than an hour for both rides

What @CAS239 says. TP says that I can do that in early August on a non-EMH day:confused3 Assume the worst. I think their statistical models don't have enough sample sets yet to work properly. I would re-evaluate/re-optimize as you get closer. Even in a couple of weeks it should be more accurate.

I would anticipate an evening EMH 1 or 2 nights a week just like every other park

Well I sure wish they would tell us what nights then!!! I have to book my fastpasses soon and may have to rework my whole schedule! :worried:

Yeah, wouldn't that be nice! I've already booked my FP for my Aug 8-12 trip, and there are evening EMH for Epcot on the 8th and MK on the 9th, so hopefully the 10th? I have 2 separate AK days with a FP for FOP on one and for RJ on the other, but an updated schedule would be great.

We were at AK for EMH morning (7:00 am) this past Saturday June 10. I have linked to the page in the Official Pandora thread where I described my experience in detail. It gives a detailed timeline (I took notes on my phone so I wouldn't forget).

You have to do FoP first - waits build immediately, Na'vi takes longer to build.

Short answer is we were out of Pandora at 7:30 am after riding FoP and then Na'vi stand-by. We then rode Safari, Everest 3 times, Dinosaur, and Primeval Whirl all were walk-ons. We were done with all of those rides by 9:00 am and hadn't used a single fp+. We had a fastpass for Kali after a late breakfast at Tusker House. But, I think the waits were still pretty negligible at 9:00 am had we wanted to do that standby. I do know that the standby line for Safari at 9:00 am was 20 minutes, because I asked my family if anyone wanted to do it again while we were waiting for our ADR.

However, you will need to get to the park at least 30 minutes prior to 7:00 am (we got there at 6:30 - tried for earlier, but some of us were slow to start that morning). I would actually suggest getting there at least 45 minutes early. We had the benefit of a rental car, so we drove and eliminated the uncertainty of the bus system.

They started letting everyone through the tapstiles at 6:40 am, dropped the rope at the turn down the walkway to Pandora at 6:45. If you got to AK at 7:00 am you would already be looking at probably 90 minute waits or more for FoP. We got off FoP at 7:15 and posted standby wait was 70 minutes, and less than 10 minutes later it was up to 100 minutes.
