Panda Rambling, Where are you in your training.

I shop for my shoes on the runningwarehouse.com. I get all my athletic clothes at Dillards when they run their year end sales. They generally have everything marked down 70% then run additional 40% off that price sales. They stock Nike which in my opinion is as good or better than anything else out there. I have worn some pieces regularly for over 10 years and not worn them out.

Is that a seasonal sale or actual year end? I ask because I really need some running gear. Since I've lost alot of weight, I spent a ton of money on a new wardrobe and outside a new pair of running shoes, not much of that went into running clothes. I need some stuff (now including another pair of shoes) and have been looking for good value. I can't justify dropping $30 on a pair of running shorts. I figured they're probably closing out all summer stuff now.

I had a meeting in Atlanta this weekend and stopped by a Nike and Reebok outlet and even at the outlets, I was shocked how much the gear was. They had a nice, neon green running shirt (sleeveless) that was $38. $38 for a tank top? C'mon Nike! The Reebok outlet was less expensive, but didn't offer much selection. It was more cross-training stuff, which I already have.

Yes the sales are seasonal. They usually run the 30% or 40% extra off the sale prices starting on a thursday and running till Sunday. I work in a mall so I wonder up there and check them out on my lunch break. Running pants are the best finds since good ones are usually $60 retail.

I saw earlier that you wear light weight racing flats for your training. I wear the Mizuno Ronin 3 shoes for all my fast workouts and racing but I have a pair of very cushioned trainers for the other days I train. It's good to give your body a break from the light weight shoes. Even though I'm a walker and don't have the pounding of running on my legs, knees and joints, I do better if I use the cushioned shoes half the time.

That is good to know. I may have to check them out. I didn't even realize they carried much athletic gear. I'm due for a new pair of shoes. I have a pair of New Balance cross-training type shoes that I used to run in. They've still got good life left on them, but it feels like I'm running with bricks tied to my feet! lol. I do need to find a pair of lighter weight shoes that give me good support for those much needed breaks.
