We are going to Vancuver on July 20, 2015. When is the best time to book?

Sold out online via Expedia for that weekend...

I would call the hotel directly because if it's sold out on the internet... they have another block of rooms that may be available for "call in's".

Even going to just their site they are booked. I have tried many different to find a room there, and nope, none:(

Again, have you tried calling the hotel directly?

Some hotels have different room allocations for different providers and their website to ensure space. With the internet allocations sold out, don't expect low prices when you call in. But do try calling in and let us know their availability for mid-July.

They told me only 10 months before. So I have to wait maybe a month or two

Does this mean that they open their rooms for booking 10 months prior to booking date? So that the hotel will show "sold out" rather than "unavailable to book" until 10 months prior? Thanks for clarifying!

I doubt that they are sold out this far in advance. We booked the Pan Pacific for our July cruise in late May via Hotwire.

Good Morning Linet,*Thank you for your interest in staying at the Pan Pacific Vancouver. We typically can only check rates and availability up to 10 months prior to arrival.*I would estimate rates in the summer months from $350-$600/night during that time subject to availability. I would recommend emailing us again in 2 months again to check rates and availability.*Sorry for the inconvenience and we look forward to your email!*Regards,Alex*

Thank you! That does help clarify when to book.
Thanks again.

Just did some digging on that weekend.... Vancouver and the attached Convention Centre appears to be hosting a MASSIVE medical conference that weekend. I expect room availability will be tough as it gets closer to the big day.

I have been looking for next August and have also found no availability through the website or the other travel sites. I am guessing (hoping) they have not opened availability online for that far out yet.

I disagree they are holding out on you for a July 2015 date... if rooms become available, it will likely be someone or a conference has released the rooms because of over booking.

Just entered the dates for a mid-September 2015 stay. No problems getting a room...

Hmm... for what Panny charges for a summer night.... I can be on a Alaskan cruise for a week! BTW.... try booking a room at the Pan Pacific website for July 2016 to check out their rates! They appear to have lots of rooms available.

@GrumpyBelle.... what is your Wonder departure date? August is a VERY busy month for hotels. There's a big music festival halfway to Whistler, a major International Airshow, Pride festivities, Vancouver Open, sports competition and concerts.

I couldn't find availability on their website either, but when I went to my dh's corporate travel site I could book a room for 209.00 a night. We are on the Aug 31 cruise. I found it odd too.

Corporate??? Great price. You might want to double-check the number of beds if you are going as a family. Sometimes corporate rates means there is one bed for a single traveller. You can put two people in the same room, but kids will be on the floor?

August 31 is a long weekend. It's the last long weekend for many travellers before going back to school. Many hotels are busy.

No it was for two adults and 2 kids. It's not that kind of coporate rate. I'ts through his works travel site. Other people have reported getting rates under 200 through their work place or travel sites. Honestly I think it's way to early to book or for many deals to be offered.

We are on the August 10th cruise. I guess I will keep trying. Thanks for the info.

I booked for July 2015 about a month ago. My dates were showing as unavailable on the hotel's website but I'd just assumed they hadn't loaded them that far ahead. When we stayed there in August 2013 we didn't book so far ahead, it was either January or February.
