I hate wearing coats so I was hoping to wear slacks, a nice button-down shirt, and a tie. Something like this:

MI-220746-63B2E3-A

Would that be appropriate?

The website says:

"To preserve the elegant atmosphere, you are asked to adhere to a strict dress code when dining at Palo. Dress pants and shirt are required for men and a dress or pantsuit is required for women. Please no jeans, shorts, capri pants, flip-flops or tennis shoes"

https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/onboard-activities/palo-restaurant/

so I assume it is ok.

Thank you!

A tie is not required at Palo, but it would be VERY appropriate. It is definitely a dressy, elegant restaurant; many men wear suits/ties, and evening dressy wear for women. "Dressing up" (as many call it) is definitely appropriate.

But, the minimum is a dress shirt and slacks, and a number of men will wear just that, so you'll be in place either way.

Very seldom with anymore do we see more than a some sort of shirt and dress pants. It has become less and less with a jacket and tie.

JW, your phrasing is rather confusing. Are you saying that coats are rarely worn or that they are usually worn?

No, those would not be considered tennis shoes and would be fine I think.

"Trainer", "running shoe, "athletic shoe" are the American definition of tennis shoe.

We went to Palo on the dream and I wore a suit, however, there were guys in there in Khakis and Polo shirts. I'm not sure how enforced the dress code is.

I might piggy-back on this thread if it's okay.

I'm looking to buy some new "travel" shoes for our upcoming trip and it would be great if they were suitable for dining at Palo. I'm a little unsure about American terminology, but would a pair of shoes similar to these be classified as "tennis shoes":

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

My husband wears a pair similar to the black ones (only his are Sketcher brand with no laces) and he has never been turned away.

Khakis and a polo shirt is good for palo and them people are in the dress code.

We were in Palo on the Magic 5 days ago. At the table next to us was a guy in a Hawaiian shirt. So don't worry about wearing a jacket.

Palo Brunch I wear a polo shirt & slacks

Palo Dinner - I wear what's shown in the original post.

Regarding Ties: It USED to be (not sure about today) that men had to wear a Coat OR a Tie. The "Miami Vice Look" (tee shirt with coat) was OK. But a Dress Shirt only without a Tie or a Coat was not.

No, a coat is not required for Palo.

Remy is another story.

A coat isn't required at Remy either. It never gets that cold. A jacket, however, is a different story:D
