I just looked at my reservation for Palo dinner in a few weeks and my 13 year old is listed on the reservation. Did they change the age?

It was a glitch. I called disney cruise line. Her age is correct. They were not sure why it added her to the reservation. Very strange!

I sincerely hope it is a glitch. There are few enough adult-only places on the ship. Having a nice quiet place to go eat (with non-weird food a la Remy) is one thing I love about DCL. Please don't ruin it with allowing children to eat there.

Wish that would happen to us. My 13 year-old would love to go.

So your saying even thou you know it’s for adults only, you would take your young teenager if it was a glitch? I think your better than this. If this will happen I’m sure you will do the right thing and not take your young teenager .

I’m fairly confident even with a glitch upon arrival at Palo anyone visibly under 18 would get turned away.

My DS10 would want to go too! He thinks he's very adult. On our last cruise, I told him we (meaning me and DH) were going to Remy one night and that it was an adult restaurant. He said, "that's ok. I like that kind of food and I know how to behave myself." He thought I meant "we", as in all of us, were going, LOL! He begrudgingly went to the kids club instead - kid is growing up TOO fast!

I think Shanti was simply saying that her young daughter would like to go, not that she would attempt to take her.

I definitely would not want children in there. Including my own. But I really don't think I'd notice a teenager. They don't chatter.

On Royal Caribbean cruise in their add on signature dining, you could add a teenager from age 14 if they were booked at 6 pm, and out by 7.30 pm.

If you wanted adults only book post 7.30, it filled them up, early evening, did not change The ambiance, no increased noise levels, and a great introduction to fine dinning.

Rather than splitting up teenagers and adults it was a working alternative.

Is that still going on? That’s awesome. My son behaves better than we do sometimes lol.

I think it would be cool if Palo allowed high school graduates. Some aren't 18 when they graduate, like my DD. There are so few things that mature 17 year olds can do on board.

I think same as Rccl, an age and time limit. Book at 6 and out by 7.30, maybe on a long cruise, select nights only.

Teenage children say 14 up, with adults, my daughter and son were in some cruises a month off 18 but couldn't go to Palo, but had gone on Rccl to a signature restaurant, in fact, two.

Ah, you laugh, but...

:)

And my not quite 14 year old has also been assumed to be a store manager recently (customer asking him something instead of asking the cashier as we were purchasing our items), so he looks grown to others, too.

And he looks dashing in a suit.

Many teenagers are a really good reflection of their parents, and in public very nature and refined. Maybe at home, well, not so.
Being 14 and assumed to be a store manager must be an indication of smart dress and a mature professional disposition. Suits do look good.
