I know they don't sell the Pal Mickeys any more, but does anyone know if they still work in the Parks?

what???

I am not sure the transmitters are still up. They are triggered of a signal in the parks, very similar to the Kim Possible phones.

Well, that would be the question, wouldn't it? I know in 2008, when they discontinued selling them, they said they'd continue to work in the Parks, but never indicated for how long.

Do you want me to bring my Pal Mickey and test it? LOL!

Sure! :thumbsup2 Actually, I was going to bring mine, but I'm not sure if it even functions any more. It for sure needs at least new batteries. I wasn't going to bother if someone knew for certain that they didn't work any more.

I had my Pal Mickey with me during the Food & Wine festival this year. There are still sensors in EPCOT that will trigger him to talk, but I think some are no longer functioning. He also worked in the Magic Kingdom, again I don't think there as many working sensors in that park either. He is smaller and easier to carry into the parks than Duffy the bear.

Thanks! I think I'll bring mine, assuming new batteries revive him! :goodvibes

I definitely will! I love mine, too, and had some really great times with him the few times I brought him to WDW with me. (My favorite was the time a young boy with Down's was sitting behind me on ME, and he was *fascinated* with Pal Mickey. That was fun!)
