Yes, the Pal Mickey still works in the parks, but you can no longer purchase them from Disney.

I'd check the character premier stores. That's where I found mine on clearance because the new Sorcerer Pal Mickey came out. I know it's been a while since they've been sold, but they still sell all the outfits in the parks.

I'd also check some of the tourist trap tourist shops in Orlando for one. If you're looking for new.

I doubt that Pal Mickey will ever stop working. It was a very simple system used for the transmission of where he was. As well, they're trying to think of ways to expand that system into other useful things for the parks.
