Pal Mickey:: Where to buy OUTSIDE of the parks

Is there any place outside of the parks that sell Pal Mickey's? Maybe at one of the resorts?

I'd like to buy one for our first day at MK but I don't want to tote around the box and instructions all day. I'd like to buy one the day we get there and then leave the box and stuff in the car. It would be quite a haul to buy one inside of MK and then take it all back to the car. LOL

Any tips?

You may be able to get it at your resort. If not, then World of Disney in DTD will have him. He looks really cute in his new outfit!!

I think PAL Mickey is adorable but I just don't want to spend that much money on him. If I bought one off ebay, would it still work (i.e., would it still be current) when we go to the parks? I know that PAL Mickey receives signals from the parks and that's how he knows what to say. Are older versions programmed to receive new signals?

I've heard that the 50th anniversary ones (wearing a tux) will pick up the new signals, but the older ones are not able to be reprogramed.

There's an even newer version now too from what I hear.

I looked around on ebay for one too, but the prices they were going for, plus shipping made them out to be almost what a new one would cost.

I figured I could always sell mine later on ebay if I bought one.

I bought 2 on Ebay for less than half the price they sell for in the parks, new in the boxes and they worked perfectly. The only reason I bought them on Ebay was that I wanted them delivered to our rooms for when we arrived - they were suprise gifts and I couldn't get that done (for some reason) any other way...

Check the budget board. There is a thread with numbers to the outlets. The tux version is currently at the outlets and you can have it delivered to your house. It is marked down to $32.99. Not sure if they sell the Sorcerer version outside the parks. I think as a pp saide they sell him at the resorts and Downtown Disney.

If you're staying onsite, you should be able to get one if the resort gift shop as well.
