we got 2 of the $13.99 ones from the outlet for our 6.5 year old and our almost 3 year old...
we carried them one day...then Dh ended up with a kidney stone and I was solo with the 2 boys and they weren't worth my precious "weight" to carry.
My observations, the 6.5 year LOVED him, and those jokes got REALLY old after 6 hours of constantly being told them. But DS loved those jokes.
Dh did not enjoy the "vibrate and noise" when he had something new to tell (especially when we were going around the World Showcase quickly for some reason). Then, he KEPT vibrating and noise while we were in the American Adventure and some show was about to start outside, if you didn't acknowledge him then he kept going. We learned to turn him off.
The almost 3 year old wanted us to carry Pal Mickey most of the time, but if he saw his brother with his, "Where *MY* Pal Mickey?" So, it was definitely one of those you can't have just one type of things for us.
We really liked the interesting facts he told us, but like I said, when I was concerned about how much was too much to carry while I was solo in the parks with the boys, Pal Mickey went before the camera and video camera!

But he went in the "leave at hotel pile" after the pin lanyard (which DS refuses to trade with anyone).
At home now? They've not touched them. Of course, they are too busy playing with the RC car, the computer games they missed, and the Pirates playset.
