Anyone know how long disneyland will have the paint the night parade? I am looking to be there in late September and would like to see that parade.

The rumors are that Disney is getting everything set for the deluge that will be Star Wars Land in 2019. PTN at DCA supports Pixar Fest but even more it is another night draw to DCA. This is expected to last into 2019 to keep some pressure off DL and SWGE.

Bottom line is most DLR vets around here expect PTN to be around awhile and certainly thru Sept.

I think it also adds value to a DCA one park ticket, which I’m sure they are looking at too. That park has been a half day, or a hopper after thought for a lot of people for a long time, and even more so once they tear out Bug’s Land. People will rush Car’s Land in the AM and then lose interest after lunch and head back to DL. This keeps more people in the park later, and like was said takes some pressure off SWL

We love DCA and can easily spend a whole day there. But I agree that PTN should continue through next summer, and possibly beyond, as a major draw dor DCA. However, that doesn't mean it won't go on a break during the already busy fall and christmas seasons. It could stay year round or Disney could make it a spring summer thing when they need a good draw for DCA.

I'm thinking it won't be running in December because of Christmas stuff, but man if it is we'll have to add a day to our tickets.

There really has not been much at DCA in the area of Christmas entertainment. WOC Season of Light is an exception. PTN could very well still be going.

I suppose that could be true. We have never been. I knew the festival of the holidays booths were along the parade route, I guess they could move the booths to a different part of the park.

Thanks

I also think that PtN will be around beyond September 3rd, but I don't know that it will be there during Christmas. For the last several years, they've done the Festival of Holidays, a Food & Wine-style event that has booths set-up along the parade route. They've not done a parade and a food festival at the same time in the past, so that might impact whether PtN is presented during the holiday seasons (and spring when the F&W has usually occurred).

They presented the media night of PtN on the last day of food and wine. The parade can run when the booths are up it just restricts the viewing areas and the booths have to close a little earlier than normal. So they can run it it’s just wether they choose to run it.

That's good to know. In the past they had put the Pixar Play Parade on hiatus during the F&W-style events. I wonder if they had the parade and F&W running at the same time on the media night as a test to see how feasible it would be to do that for an entire "season". Was it possible to get past the booths during the parade? I suppose they could also move/re-locate the booths that are in the some of the narrower spots of the parade route (e.g., along the bridge area, opposite of Sonoma Terrace/WCT) to improve guest traffic.

The booths are fine in terms of the parade passsing. In the past I think it’s been the restricted viewing areas and not being able to move until the parade is over with as to why the parades have gone on hiatus during the festivals.

I have had to use my super power of will strengh not to spoil me heheeheh ... but i had to take a sneak peek..

The Dis was shooting this video from a riser that was specifically set up for the media preview across from Carthay Circle. I’m not sure how that viewing area is with crowds on a regular night.

Thanks... any spots you might recommend me?
The parade route is long and the view is fine from just about anywhere. I would just make sure you secure your spot about 45-60 min before the parade if you want to be in the front of where you choose to watch.

The fountain and Circle area fill up earlier than other areas, like by the Zephyr. I think people see early campers setting up in the Circle and join in, but other more outlying areas take longer to fill up. But an hour or so should be enough for a good spot in most areas of the parade route.

On this last Sunday night there were still open front row spots up until right before the parade. Unless there is a specific spot along the route you want, I think 45-60 minutes might be a bit high of an estimate.
