Okay dh got me a pedicure and manicure for Mothers Day. I am getting them the day before we leave for WDW. I have not had my nails done forever!! And as for my toes it is usually Revlon Red. I want something new something fun. What is in in nail color?? Any suggestions.

TIA

I really like a french mani and pedi. I think it lasts longer and chips don't show as much and are easy to repair.

I am with you on the fingernails barbmouse, but I'm not so fond of them on the toes. I am also a big fan of the hot pinks for my toes. Why not go to your local beauty supply place and look at the new colors. Then you'll know what's in and if you see a great color you can just pick it up and take it with you.

I have seen black around lots. I have totally thought about black on both with a white streak on the big toe and the thumb nail. But I guess I will show my age. Black use to be for the punk rockers or the Goth people. Is it okay for a 30 something momma?

For our up coming trip I'm going with bright red with black Mickey heads!

Last time we went to WDW I had my nails done especially for the trip. I got my nails done with a French Manicure and had little black 3 dot Mickey's painted on my 2 ring fingers.

As for the feet, lots of people here have mentioned that a pedicure removing all the callouses makes the feet blister & hurt. Maybe a search on the topic might help?

Have soooooooo much fun.

I just read in my Glamour magazine and bright colors are in for the summer. I bought a color called cherry berry for my toes and I did mine and my four year old's. Though the Mickey heads sound so cute, especially for Disney!

Id save the pedicure for when you get home! We just just got back and boy were my feet in need of some loving care:lmao: Have a great time!:goodvibes

I would definitely go for a french mani... I just think they look very elegant.

The mickey pedi sounds just adorable. My dd is sixteen and she is into the bright colors this summer(turquoise, lime green, neon orange). I myself tried a bright pink for the first time this weekend. Not use to it yet, but my dd loves it!!

Have a wonderful vacation!!!!

I love pedicures. My family got me one for each month of the summer for mothers day.
I think french manicures are classic, but sometimes if I want color I do bubble gum pink in the summer and a red in the winter.

I always get a french manicure -- even if it chips early in the vacation, it won't show as much as if it were a solid color.

I leave the color for my toes. I've done bright red, bright pink & a pearl white. I tend to go for the OPI polishes that have a little "shimmer" to them for more fun.

Check with the salon & see what brand of polish they use. Then you will know which brand to check. They usually have the latest collection colors.

Also, about the problem with getting a pedicure right before you do all that walking. It actually happened last time I went, although not in the past. I think that is because I got an actual pedicure last time (although she didn't even use the paddle on my calluses because they're soft) where she used a foot creame. At WDW, the bottoms of my feet started to peal & it was a little uncomfortable. I usually just get a toe polish which still includes the soak & a light message.

Good luck & have fun with your gift.

Hi if you talk to your manicurist she will help you pick the right color for you. Just tell her what colors you don't like and she should have some great suggestions.

I'm a fan of the french mani pedi too. I also like adding little flowers to the pedi :)

Just be careful not to let them razor or scrub off your calluses. I always tell the technician to scrub lightly and leave my calluses. I practice martial arts and I need them. My friend is a runner and she has to tell them this also. You don't want to be reforming calluses on your trip. Most nail techs can do cool design and I think mickey heads would be awesome.

One year when I had long nails (acrylic) I had a really glittery silver put on and then I put on various mickey's, it was a sheet of nail art I got at a drugstore. I'd never had so many kids comment on my nails, and those that didn't had their parents point my nails out to them lol.::MickeyMo
