Ok, so we have our first ever cruise sailing concierge level, a week on the Fantasy in April that I just paid off, and now I'm like "what do I do now?". Do I email someone to help me with anything? Our booking date is December 3 so I have a bit of time, I just want to be on top of it since we want brunch at Palo and dinner at Remy one night, and hopefully a cabana at Castaway Cay (if we can snag one, haven't been able to so hopeful that we can staying concierge). For some reason I feel unreasonably lost. We've also already had 3 cruises cancelled (or that we've cancelled) due to the shut down so it feels weird that it's even happening. I hadn't even allowed myself to get in to planning mode, shifting gears back in to planning mode for this is proving difficult especially since concierge is new to me.

You are a bit early to do any onboard booking.

Your requests can be sent on day 125 before your cruise, by email. You should prepare your request email to be sent at exactly midnight to have the best chance to snag a cabana. Palo should not be a problem even if you act a bit later.

DCL Shoreside Concierge will send you an email a few days in advance with a list of things they can help you with. Here’s the list of items they can help you with we received before our cruise last year :

• Port Adventures
• Activities at Disney Castaway Cay, including private Cabanas (on select sailings)
• Adult-exclusive dining reservations at Palo and Remy
• Senses Spa appointments
• Beverage tastings
• Virtual Sports/Golf Simulator (Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream)
• Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
• Royal Court Royal Tea (on select sailings)
• Dining rotation and seating requests
• Special occasions, amenities and more!
• Transportation to/from your cruise (for transfer options please contact your travel advisor if applicable)

Of course, if you have specific requests that are not onboard bookings, like a private ground transportation, an hotel room or a waiter request, you can send them an email or call them immediately. The email is dcl.concierge.services@disneycruise.com, and you can call them at 407-566-8119.

Thank you! Yeah, I know it’s super early, I just didn’t know how early people normally contact concierge services or if they contact you first. I’m so used to being low lady on the totem pole, since we’ve only done a couple cruises, that this is all foreign to me. This is for my and my husbands 40th birthdays so I’m trying to get it as perfect as possible (only a little anxious 😬), but I’ll just have to sit back and wait another 1.5 months….but what’s 6 weeks when you’ve already been waiting well over a year?

I'm not sure what time zone you are in, but the email needs to be timestamped for midnight, east coast. Here in CA I mail at exactly 9:00:00 PM. In addition to a Cabana, the tasting classes fill up quickly.

I'm east coast, thankfully I stay up late lol. Unfortunately I can't drink wine so I can't do the tasting classes, it's sad times over here (and my husband doesn't like wine), I'm pretty simple this trip.

I mean, there are plenty of classes that aren't wine. Mixology, Tequila & Margaritas, Beer, Rum, Martini... 🤣

And a chocolate and alcohol tasting that was really cool! They also have a whiskey and bourbon tasting to add to the other individual types of alcohols listed.

Some email services, for example Gmail, allow you to schedule your email, so you do not need to stay up to send it at the appropriate time. I personally prefer to stay up and click on send the second the day changes on my device.

Lol I can’t drink in general because of my medicine, I should clarify that as well, but I also can’t have wine because of some of the by products in wine that make me sick. My whole face starts going numb, then it looks like I’ve been sunburned, it’s not fun times. I’m a cheap date though, I can have maybe one drink a day with my medicine and anything more leaves me really ill feeling, so I’ll probably save that for pool side or dinner. My husband only likes very specific types of beer (so picky, they have to be dark and angry as I always say lol) so no tastings for him. He gets in a beer tasting where they give him any IPA and he’s gonna scoot on out 😬

I’m not tech savvy, maybe I should use this time to learn how to do this lol

If it was JUST chocolate I could be down for that lol, but I can’t really drink (boo). I’ll see if that have that, I can just take the tiniest sips of the drink and eat the chocolate 😂

The drinks will be Champagne, Red Wine, Port, and Scotch.

It's really too bad that DCL (and others) equate "adult" with "alcohol". I'd love a chocolate tasting that didn't involve alcohol. I also don't drink, so a very large part of the available on-board activities are useless to me. The parks at WDW are going that way, too. :(

It is sad that they can’t figure out how to offer something that doesn’t involve alcohol. I would love to watch someone make some kind of fancy dessert, learn about the process, and get to eat it after; or the chocolate tasting (because I’ve done a chocolate tasting before, and it’s divine when you have amazing chocolate).

There is a Remy dessert tasting experience on most Dream/Fantasy cruises. The chef comes out to explain the desserts and answer questions about them, and the desserts are really quite delicious. They do serve a complimentary champagne or something, but if you ask for a non-alcoholic drink, then they prepare a really tasty hibiscus tea based drink. I don't usually like iced tea at all, but this one was quite good! I guess I don't know if this experience is available yet post-Covid, though.

I forgot the name of the program (EDIT: Anyone Can Cook. Duh, seemed to obvious 🤣), but there used to be (pre-covid) cooking demonstrations in D Lounge on the Wonder, at least. And you got samples. Those were fun. I hope they come back.

I did see it on our Dream cruise but it filled up too fast. I hadn’t heard if it had returned or not, and honestly kind of forgot about it till all this discussion happened. I guess it doesn’t hurt to ask 🤔

When we were on the fantasy recently, They weren't doing brunch or dessert at Remy, just dinner but hopefully that will open up more as time goes on. I would encourage you to list the Remy Dessert in your email to Concierge and see what they can do. I have friends who rave about the Dessert at Remy and book it each time they sail.

Definitely a good alternative if you don't drink/don't drink much!
