Yesterday was the big day ... TA paid off our Thanksgiving cruise and got our excursions confirmed right away. So I guess it's real now, and we just cannot wait. I finally have to clean the summer clothes out of DD8's drawers since Fall has finally arrived here in NH, and I think I am going to put them right into the suitcase. Seems silly to put them away and then take them back out in a few weeks!

Congratulations and I hope you have a great cruise....

Youre on the Magic Western right? We're on the Eastern that leaves on the 30th. When were you able to book your excursions? On Tues? We get to book next Tues.
So are you really going to begin your packing? I have 3 piles in the closet upstairs, the suitcases are in the den but havent actually put them in the suitcase yet.
We leave on Thanksgiving for the airport. 9weeks (or 63days from today)
Have a great cruise - maybe we will see you as we board

McNuss, I paid the Big Bill a couple of weeks back and was able to book an excursion on Tuesday. We are going to do the Atlantis Sub trip in the morning at GC. We will arrange the others ourselves, which I have started doing too.

We were able to book the excursions Tuesday; my TA called her Disney rep and we had a confirmation by the next am. Ironically, we then decided to cancel the one excursion we booked in Key West (the trolley tour) bc I could get it cheaper myself, and go whenever we please. We got the Banana Boat ride at CC, tbh, that's all DD cared about! I had already booked us a catamaran trip in GC with Red Sail Sports. We have friends who've used them and enjoyed their trip. I don't do motor boats (the smell makes me sick sometimes) so Capt. Marvins, etc... was out. With Red Sail, you are brought back to the Hyatt on 7 Mile Beach where they rent chairs and beach toys, so we'll go there afterwards. On Cozumel, we'll head to Chankanaab ourselves, no need to pay a tour operator to get us there!

As for the packing, I would not call it officially packing...;) I just can't see putting the summer clothes away in the attic, only to have to pull them down and wash them in 6 weeks. We may not bring everything I put into the suitcase now, but I'd rather just weed stuff out than start from scratch. I, too, have piles in the closet in my guest room with the things I've bought on sale in the last couple of months.

Last night, I booked manicure, pedicure, hair appts. for DD and me for the night before we fly out. I can't see spending the kind of $$ they want for those services on the cruise. I want to look nice right when I get there, anyhow!

At this point, other than the major packing the day before, I am done planning and am just going to savor looking forward to the trip from now on. What a concept!:D

I too prefer sailing, and was searching for a sailing and snorkeling tour that included Stingray City. But, we are doing the Atlantis sub in the morning and the last tender back to the ship is at 5pm, so our time and choices are more limited. Looks like it'll be Captain Marvin or Stingray City Charters. Should be fun either way--- certainly a full day!

We're also going to Chankanaab on our own, perhaps we could share a cab or hook up at the park? Sounds like another great day trip, doesn't it?

At KW we're going kayaking in the Wildlife Refuge. We've been to KW before and seen all the tourist stuff, so this'll be something different.

Here in the deep south, winter is something other people have. We wear shorts just about year round, and the only clothes we drag out and put up are our "heavy" jackets (that you'd probably laugh at). I am keeping my eye out for a nice Hawaiian dress for DD. She outgrew her old one and liked wearing it on the cruise. Being a guy and former cruiser, I'm pretty sure I can pack for this one in 1/2 hour or less, although I'm betting it'll take mom a tad longer.

We may get DD's hair braided on board. I read on some thread where they do that, but it may be just the Eastern cruise, I don't recall.

Looking forward to meeting you and having our DDs meet!

DisneyDarwin -- they were doing the on-board braids on the 9/14 Western. The young girl at our table had some done...very cute!

We are all squared away, too! Our girls are really getting excited. They love the idea of having their own passports and show them to everyone who comes by to visit. They have also decided on who will sleep in the pull down bed on what nights. Nana (my Mom) took them to the Gap where they had an incredible end of summer sale. The girls got a bunch of tshirts, shorts and summer pjs for as little as $5 each! Leave it to Nana to find a bargain! I should have let her do the booking for this cruise....she probably could have gotten it for less money! LOL

See you on the turkey cruise,
Deb
