I have noticed over the past months a fair number (okay, a lot) of DIS'ers have seemed to have either dropped through the cracks here, or maybe worse, just dropped out. Whether from arguments,
misunderstandings,
boredom,
or just plain old 'tired of the ole place'. I agree it has felt a bit strange here over the months, I have used the words stilted and strained when DIS'ers have asked me in PM's and/or emails if I too noticed what they were feeling and saw.
Importantly, I have also noticed in the past few days, a few missing DIS'ers showing up, testing the waters as it is.
I have also felt a return to some of the lightheartedness and friendliness that have so long been a given here on the CB (okay, ya need a little family feudin' and fightin' once in awhile
). I have received a few PM's from DIS'ers asking me if I have noticed that too (and much nicer noticing that than the other I mentioned above).
So, all this post/thead is for is to extend a hand, a group hand and group hug
to all those who have sort of dropped out for a time here on the CB, to please say hello and give it a try again. Lord knows I have taken sabbaticals here, had my arguments and feuds, but, knowing this is family to me here, I have always returned.
This past Saturday, we had a meet here in Chicago. It was our regular Fall meet, but also sort of a goodbye meet for Dopeygirl (Tricia), who will most likely be moving from the Chicago area soon, her DH, Jim, now in the military. It was great, sharing time with DIS'ers, smiles, chit-chatting about Disney, the DIS (yeah, yeah, the good, bad and ugly), families, life. I have known Tricia for almost four years now, meeting her here, through the DIS, a cyber friend. Tricia is a real life friend today. A local DIS'er, MJames41 (Mark), new to DIS meets, though not the DIS, came by for his first DIS meet. Sort of reminded me a bit of The Lion King, the circle of life (okay, I know, sort of corny, but hey, that what is seemed like to me). Tricia will be moving, but will always be my friend, cyber, but today now, also real. Lady M (Marie), coming on to the DIS during a tough time for me some time back, has made a good number of DIS friends she enjoys seeing at meets (now if I can only get her to WDW, LOL) and online also.
It can be such a nice, fun place, if we let it happen. So, if you have not said hello here in a time, stop by, give us a
(oh, there are new smilies too). For others here, extend a welcome home for those who may have been bored, confused, hurt or whatever and just need that little extra to jump in again. Sound good??

I can see why people need a break from here from time to time, and I can even understand why people leave and don't come back - its tough to put yourself out there in cyberspace. Lots of room for nutcases and argumentative people, but for the most part, I have found people on the DIS to be easy going and friendly.
Thanks for the
and take care..Faith.
