I like the $12 text and phone plan only for my son. WE do not need or want internet on it.

There are no phones to buy on page plus website and i'm on a budget, ... where do people buy or how to get set up? thanks

Have used Page Plus for DS for about a year now. Very reliable (they use Verizon's network) and cheap!! :cool1: We used one of our old Verizon flip phones for him. You could find one cheap on Craigslist or eBay. BTW - they also sell phones on their website: https://www.pagepluscellular.com/phones/

;)

Used PagePlus for a couple of years and loved it. Have recommended many people to it over the years.

I would suggest that you check out Kitty Wireless. They seem to have great prices and they have extensive pages of "explainations" that can probably answer all your questions.

They also sell phones at reasonable prices.

I have NO association with Kitty, but the provider gets great reviews across the web and the few people I know that have tried it have been satisfied.

There are many other people who can set you up -- a lot of them on EBay, which is how I set my PP plan up back in 2002 or so. I was very satisified with the EBay person who set me up.

But, again, for a what I have seen characterized as a bit of a hand-holding, seamless, and value-priced option, you may want to look at Kitty.

BTW, the reason I left PP was I was just horrible at remembering to add money to my account....:confused3...other than that, their coverage was awesome.

I've had Page Plus for several months now and am completely satisfied with them. I was with Verizon for 10 years when I saw online people were saying how they use their verizon iPhones on page plus. I looked into it and transferred my verizon iphone over to page plus. Haven't looked back. Page plus does sell phones but it looks like they are limited with their models. Here's a link:

They now offer a monthly plan where they automatically charge your card every 30 days so you don't have to login in every month to add money. I just signed up for it. I was forgetting to add money some months lol

They are excellent...:thumbsup2 I have used them for a few years now- I use a 30 per month autopay plan.... the coverage is good- no complaints- my DS has a 100.00 per year card with 2000 minutes(?) on an old rzor flip phone for straight up calls or texts ( he doesn't use it much)
I have Droid incredible2 phone, it's an older smartphone, I got it 2nd hand on Amazon marketplace- I think you can use just about any verizon branded phone (not 4g) on PP network I have heard ok stuff about kittywireless too, but they're sort of $$$ for what they offer, since you can usually just diy what they do...... howard forums is good info for various phone plans, etc.

I used Page Plus for my DD for years. It is really a great company! It runs on VERIZON towers, so if you get good reception in your area on Verizon, you'll get good reception on PP.

Just about any non-PAYG Verizon phone will work with Page Plus. The Howard Forums have a list of phones that will work with Page Plus: http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php/364-Page-Plus-Cellular . My friend uses a Galaxy S that my DD used with the plan. You can get cheap phones by looking on eBay and activation is pretty easy.

While I really liked PP (we had a great plan that was discontinued and grandfathered in), we were getting crappy service at my DD's high school with the Verizon towers. I changed to Consumer Cellular which runs on AT&T towers. My DD has my old AT&T iPhone 4s and I pay about $40 per month for 200 minutes, 5,000 texts and 1G data.

I use pageplus and I am very happy with the service, I don't really use data so I do the $12 a month plan.
I have purchased 4 phones on ebay and have been satisfied with all of them. You do not need a verizon phone, but they are the easiest to activate on page plus. Howard forums has alot of info and can help you figure out what phones will work with page plus.

I've been considering PagePlus after our contracts are over next month with VzW. Here's a question for anyone that might know. Let's say I get the $12 plan, which is 250 minutes, 250 texts, and 10 MB of data (which might as well be zero data, lol). Can I use a 3G smart phone on that particular plan, and just change the settings on the phone to block data and only use Wi-Fi? Can you still send/receive photo texts if you don't have the data activated?

I can't spend more than $30 on the phone - so I guess I 'll shop ebay but clueless which phone (thousands there) to buy.

You can always search for "Page Plus" which will get you phones that are ready to go on the system and limit your search to $30 and under. When you find a likely phone, google the name of it to determine when it was manufactured and the reviews. You don't want an ancient phone because there may be battery issues.

Yes you can turn off your data and just use wi-fi, that is what I do. You do need to use data when sending/receiving pictures. Also if someone sends a multimedia message (not pics but a group message) you need to have your data on to get it. Its annoying but if you do alot of pic message or mutiperson messages it could be a real pain if you don't want to leave your 3G on.

Right. good idea and thanks. I was also thinking to just do a search of verizon under $30.. but 3000 phones came up... Reason I was asking on the board here which phones you all may have & like. I wonder if getting a verizon phone is better than a page plus phone....

Check out Kajeet.com phones. Their plans are designed for kids and parents and are afforable.
We used their phone for our kid's first phones. We could disable them for times (sleep hours) when we didn't want the kids to get calls or messages from friends.

How old is your son? Will a dumb phone be enough for him or will he need a smart phone? My daughter had an LG Env3 VX-9200 on Page Plus when she was in middle school. It had a large keyboard that slid out. She wanted a smart phone in 8th grade so she could have wifi so I bought her a Galaxy S which I activated on Page Plus. Both phones were purchased used off of eBay. Verizon had terrible coverage at her High School so I went with a different carrier and I gave her my old iPhone 4s.

I bought my mother a total dumb phone last year that could be activated on Page Plus. It was a Samsung Gusto.

11.5. I don't want a smartphone. I will check ebay for the env3 vx and bid on a good cheap one. Thanks much. Then I'll buy the page plus minutes with a phone number! :))
