Last year we were at WDW for Christmas and I surprised the kids by having the room decorated (by Disney's in-room celebrations service) when we returned from the park one day. There was a cloth tree on the door that lit up with our name embroidered on it. Inside were a large Mickey and Minnie Mouse, embroidered pillowcases, a blanket with our name, some lights, a box of goodies, and a newspaper with our names on it. It was a highlight of their trip. But it was $$$, the cruise line doesn't offer it (correct?), and I could have done it myself (I think?) for MUCH cheaper. All of that said, I'm ready to plan/buy what to pack not for the actual Christmas day but for the holiday decorating surprise to get our room festive for the trip and surprise the kids! We will leave on Dec 19th and return Dec 26th, so we will be there over Christmas. What are you doing/making/packing to ready for the holidays and do you have any ideas or sites to share?

I am on the same cruise!! I also was on the Christmas cruise 2014. I did order the in room decorations, which were a Mickey & Minnie Xmas themed bed runner, a large door magnet and a merry Christmas banner that was magnetic and hung from the ceiling. It was a little expensive but my kids enjoyed it. It was all of good quality so I will be bringing it along with me this year. I brought with me a very tiny tree that had battery operated lights and tiny ornaments. While on the cruise we made a gingerbread house and some other xmas themes crafts that added to the decor. I was thinking about bringing smaller stockings to fill with some Disney items for xmas morning and more magnets! The Christmas cruise is awesome.....enjoy!

If you have a verandah or porthole, vinyl clings on the windows would be a nice touch and easy to pack

What other things do people tend to pack for Christmas cruises especially if you will be on board Christmas Day?

Can you put battery lights on your balcony ?
Has anyone made a stocking for your cabin steward ?

Great question! What sort of gifts are we able to provide our cabin steward and servers since it is Christmas?

They have very little space in their cabin. I was thinking of snacks, candy, puzzle book, small flashlight or book light, a gift card or cash in a Christmas card. I'd love to hear other ideas !

We're on the Dec 24th cruise. Since we're driving, I'm going to try to find a small, skinny tree to set up. Lights are a good idea, and I love the idea of a stocking for the steward et al.
