packing tips with kids

My mom, dad, brother, and I are leaving in 21 days. We need packing tips. My family always packs to many clothes. This time my mom is probably going to get my brother and I to pack together..assembly style. Still packing tips please...I didn't know where to post this so I'm sorry if its not the right place. Thanks alot. I'm super excited

I recommend space bags. The plastic bags that you place your clothes in and then roll to push the air out. My DD19 and I love them--DH and DS don't really care. You can buy a set @ Walmart. That way both of you can see whose space bag is whose, but you can also pack alot more inside your suitcase.

I love to pack with our clothes laid out in outfits, so you know what you are wearing each day, including socks and underwear. I lay them all out on my bed for each family member then go back over them one last time before putting in the suitcase. So in one pile would be pants, then socks and underwear, then shirt. That way you can just grab and go in the morning before the park, also using a ziploc bag for each outfit is an idea. I don't do that but have heard it works great for many, just squeeze all the air out of it. I tend to take one extra outfit per family member, a couple pairs of extra socks and underwear. One sweatshirt or jacket, depending on time of year.

Also don't forget if you'll need a swimsuit cover to add that in, one or two will do for all week. Hope this helps!
