Help I think I am on road trip burnout. I have 4 children (12,8,3,1) and we are driving down in a few weeks. The older 2 I have pretty much set on what to pack- some books, video games 20 ?'s ect...) Now the problem the 3 and 1 year old. So far for the 3 I have some new DVDs, sticker books, magna doodle...but that is where I am stuck..... need some more ideas to keep him happy as he is the most demanding of my children(love ya! mean it) And the one I am thinking Cheerios and some Wiggles...but any other ideas?
What have been the big hits on your trips?

How old of a 3? My 3 year old (turned in Dec) loves her sister's leapster so they take turns w/ that, their Barbie computers (he's a boy - maybe they have something similar), coloring books (you could do Color Wonder), Leap Pads... I've taken "talking" wooden puzzles before (the ones w/ knobs)... I found some of the black velvet coloring pages in Disney characters for this trip. We play the "find" game - can you find "a cow, a windmill, a red truck"? Then when they find one thing, we add something else... they LOVE this game! I also got some Disney seek-find books that are write on/wipe off for this trip, a Roll-a-Rama that is Disney Princessess. I always pack waaaaay too many things, but better safe than sorry!!!

what about lace up thingys - my DS3 can do those. It can be a show puzzle where they have to lace in and out of the holes? You can even make one yourself - or have the older ones make it during the drive for the little one! More for everyone to do! My DS also love the Imagentic Magnetic books. We have several - take a zip lock bag to hold all the pieces together though!

Oh I now am going to look for wipe off books- circle and find kind...I forgot all about the lace up stuff. Great ideas! Thanks guys keep them coming- it is a 16 hour drive!!
I found a website that had some of the obvious ideas- but then they said scotch Tape!! And I would have never thought to pack that but my ds loves it when he gets his hands on it at home- so I will buy a roll or two and let him tape away for a little while!
I think I might print out some of the pages from the printables sites(my dd loved those last year) and laminate them.
Maybe make some bingo cards?
