I wanted to bring some snacks and drinks with us in our checked luggage, but I'm worried they will explode!

Has anyone packed cans of sodas, capri suns, or the Parmalat milk boxes in their checked luggage? Did they explode?

I used to be Debbie in Mobile but the Army keeps moving us!

I think I would skip the sodas and capri suns. The sodas would definately explode from the pressure and there is a likely hood the capri sun, juice boxes could puncture.

We do take non liquid food type snacks in our luggage all the time. Might not take the chance with a liquid and being 6 miles up (the pressure is pretty strong)

I bring juice boxes and rice milk boxes in my check in luggage. I always put it in ziploc bags and put them inside a plastic grocery bag. We don't drink pop so I have no experience on that. I've read that people have packed champaigne in plastic and wrapped around a towel with out exploding.

I have had pringles popped, I don't know if it was air pressure or just that it may have gotten hit or sqeezed with within my luggage.

While I was driving in Colorado, our organic potato chip bad popped. It scared all of us because we thought our minivan's tire erupted. It was very loud.

Just pack with care,

We've packed juice boxes and bottled water in our check-in luggage and had no problems. We did put them in huge zip-lock bags just in case, but they have never leaked so I don't know how necessary this really is.We packed bagels too,but they got really squished from everything shifting in the suitcase. We ate them anyway but they sure looked funny!

On our last trip, there were 4 of us 2 adults & 2 teenagers. We packed breakfast cereal & pop tarts. Plus juice boxes and othere snacks for the 7 days we were there and never had a problem. You will save alot of money this way.

I plan on going in August. I think we are going to pack a seperate suitcase with snacks, etc. and then use that suitcase on the way home for souvenirs that we pick up in WDW. Are you flying? If so, you can stop at a grocery store on your way to your hotel to pick up sodas and squishables. You can do this if you rent a car, or I believe Tiffany Towncar allows one grocery stop if you use their service. (We are!) Then you can rent a fridge at your hotel to keep things cool. I don't think they cost more than a few dollars a day.

BTW- are you staying at SoG? We will be staying there in Aug, and I've never been there before. This is my family's first trip to WDW and I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.

Only 184 days till Disney!!

Good luck and have fun!
