Packing Question

So, normally on vacation I don't do laundry. I bring a LOT of stuff along instead. But, this will be our first DVC stay and its a longer trip...we're doing 5 nights SSR and 4 nights GF (had this planned prior to DVC purchase). So I really want to try to pack light and do laundry. Being in Nov though, I feel like I still need a lot of stuff - shorts, jeans, long sleeves, short sleeves, etc. How many days worth of clothes do you normally pack staying at DVC? Do you just do laundry multiple times? Any tips on packing lighter?

Start with the basics - what do you really need? The typical answers will be two outfits, medicine, ID, plane tickets, park passes, credit cards and the cell phone... oh, and the keys to get back in the house upon return

Pack enough so that you won't have to do laundry over at GF. Minimum of 4 days. Layers are the key in Fl once the weather starts cooling down. Lots of lightweight shirts with a jacket or an additional shirt over it are easy to pack. I'll typically run two loads of laundy in a 5 day trip (lights/darks) for the 3 of us and never bring a ton of clothes - If I had wanted to lug all that stuff around I would have brought a trailer instead of DVC

You definately have to layer in November. It can go from the 60's to the high 80's and back down again. I usually bring a few long sleeve t-shirts, a swaetshirt or 2 a few t-shirts , shorts and jeans.
I normally do a load of laundry every day. Even thought he clothes may not look dirty, they've been through the parks, too.
Defiantely get you laundry done before going to GF.

We drive to The World so no real issue for us in carrying extra stuff.
However we have friends in Ohio who fly and they do this:
1. Dress for the day you will be arriving.
2. Carry on the plane a simple bag with all the necessities including one change of clothing. Since it is typically cold in Ohio when they leave they carry warm weather clothing in the bag on the plane.
3. Call the 800 number of the resort/Hotel you are going to be staying in and ask them about shipping a box or two for you to have waiting in your room when you arrive or shortly there after.
4. Five days before your scheduled departure call FedUp and have them pickup the box(s). Make sure you get a signature for the delivery so you will know the box(s) have arrived, you can check that on the shippers website. If not take extra on the plane.

This is so simple and you will love not having to deal with the checked bags and now the new charges per bag by the airlines. Also, make sure you use good quality boxes so you can repack them and ship them back home. Also put a roll of packing tape in the box(s) so you will have it to reseal the box(s) when you ship them back home. Then you can go to GF and have fun without the bags everywhere you go.

Disney will assist in doing this kind of thing if you ask.
