Have heard it mentioned often that people 'roll' their clothes to keep the creases out. Has anybody tried this & really had success over folding? Every trip I vow I'll try it & then chicken out right before because I can't understand how the clothes don't get as wrinkled being rolled. Don't want to cause more problems than already exist with the clothes. Also, do you waste or gain space rolling? Thank you!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

I roll and it seems to work. Instead of definite "crease" lines from folding you may get general wrinkles, and the Downy stuff will help to get those out.

It seems to help in space in my eyes. You can fit rolled items into small holes (especially if you have small children; their stuff is small anyways) and fill out the packing area.

I actually use pack mates and that saves a ton of space - roll the clothes and compresses the air out of the bag. If airport security has to inspect my bag they are just touching plastic bags, not any of my clothes.

We always roll our clothes, it was a trick my grandmother showed us years ago, and we continue it today. To me, it does seem to save on space, and a lot less wrinkles. Go for it, give it a try for yourself and see what happens.

I always roll my clothes as well...My grandmother did, my mother did, so now I do. I think it saves space and helps with wrinkles. Just remember to fold arms in on the crease, then roll. And, it's better if you layer the clothes - like three pairs of shorts - then roll the shorts. Longest pair outside, shortest pair inside. Also, I put heavy things, like jeans, or dress pants, on the bottom of a suitcase with the legs hanging out over the sides. Then I stack rolled clothes on top, and flip the legs of the dress pants or jeans over the clothes, like a package. Keeps the crease nice and neat and the pants unwrinkled. Just what I'm used to I guess, but it seems to work! :)

Ok - I'm fussy about packing! I admit it! :p

I agree with the rolling it does seem to save space and less wrinkles. I will roll this trip but I am also bringing a new product I found called Wrinle Remover made by Magic. It was in the laundry detergent section of the super market. It is incredible you spray the clothing smooth out the wrinkles, go brush your teeth and like magic the wrinkles are gone. I use it on sons shirts it's great. Does not work on linen but yes on jeans! The only down side I have found is packing to go home. I do admit I didn't think of it at first but the clothes take up more space when unrolled then there is all the souvineers and CC sweatshirts(I live in New England and it's already getting chilly frost on thursday) I knew I had to roll the stuff going home but never thought about all the time I had at home to pack and the last night of the cruise I had to roll things back up not as neatly but still took a bit more time. HTH

I've rolled my clothes the last few trips and seem to have less wrinkles, especially with my t-shirts. Plus it does save A LOT of room for souveniers.

I have read that packing your clothing in the plastic bags from the dry cleaners really works wonders to deter wrinkles! My husband's grandmother swears by this, and believe me....the woman knows just about everything so I will definitely try it for our next cruise. We also brought a small steamer on our last cruise and it worked great. NO standing in line for the iron!:D
