Packing Panic

Ok, I've learned my lesson about waiting until a couple days before my trip to start packing. Normally I would have been packed this past weekend. I thought the fact that I got most of my clothes together over the weekend would be good enough. Just had to move them from the laundry basket to the suitcase and grab a couple extra items. The latter is what threw me into a panic. I couldn't find a shirt I wanted to take! :scared1: I thought it was in my armoire but when I went through the clothes in it last weekend it wasn't there. I should have started the search then but just figured it was in my closet. After tearing my room apart searching high and low as well as checking the laundry room I still didn't find it. I ended up picking a couple substitutes. I asked my b-i-l and later he checked and it was put in with his clothes! Whew!!

After I gave up on the shirt I looked at what was next on my list...sandals. I go to the closet and all that was in there was the right sandal for both pairs. Luckily that search wasn't as long as I quickly found the left ones under my bed. I managed to get the one suitcase packed last night. The stuff for the other suitcase was piled in the laundry basket and ready. Just had to have my sis unpack her stuff from her Hawaii trip. I finished my packing tonight (all except the laptop). I feel much better now but will not put off packing again!

That's way I have my DP do all the packing. I just have to make sure everything she wants to bring will fit in the car. :rotfl:

The Packing Mandate clearly states that all luggage must be packed in full a minimum of 12 days prior to departure for all WDW excursions. It says that for a REASON, you know! ;)

At least you can always drive home real quick for anything vital :rotfl:

OK, you want to hear something really sad? We've actually made TWO trips to WDW to bring everything we wanted with us! :sad2: Granted it was a Christmas stay, and we had a little Sentra, but c'mon TWO trips?

Yeah . . .

You and I could NEVER travel together . . . .:rotfl2:

You can travel with DH. He hasn't packed a single thing. This is his last day off before the trip, and he is sitting in the living room watching TV. :headache: His cameras are probably packed, so I guess you should all be prepared to avoid the naked man taking photos. His priorities are obviously very, very backwards. :sad2:

I usually pack all my toiletries 2 days before leaving, and all the clothes the day before. I tend to be one of those people who get nervous that he's going to forget something, but I still wait until the day before......I just worry, panic and check/double-check/triple-check to make sure I have everything right before I head out the door. (And even then I forgot my plane ticket a few years ago. :rolleyes1)

Since when are ANY of us "typical"?:confused3

When I volunteered with LifeWalk there was another girl whose DH made all the boys SWOON. There was a sponsor who made pretty much everybody swoon. So, ordinarily, the boys aren't interested in DH. He's a nice guy, just not the type the boys are usually interested in.

HOWEVER, as Rob has pointed out, this group is not typical. I would imagine this group is also not ordinary OR usual, so all bets are off. :rotfl2:

Hey he's got something going for him in my book. He is a Texan!

To compensate for my late packing I woke up early today so I had time to make sure I have everything. I woke up this morning and was like "what do I have to do? Everything is packed...I'm all set". So I twiddled my thumbs for the next couple hours until time to leave for the airport.

Then I had another last minute panic session when I went to go put the Magical Express tags on my luggage. As I looked at what I assumed was two tags folded in half, I realized it was actually 1 long tag folded in half. But I have two suitcases! I knew from reading the boards and/or listening to the podcast that you can just give them your baggage claim check and they will take care of it. But it made me more nervous not having that bright yellow tag on the bag. Luckily when we came back to the room after dinner at Jiko both bags were in the room!
