that's exactly what I have done.. it's nice to have that break also.. I grab some food from the food court, bring my laundry ( I bring detergent and fabric softener sheets from home ) and run it through.. Great minds think alike!
Ditto! I do not cook or clean on vacation, but I also don't have kids. I think we did laundry once or twice on family vacations when I was growing up, but it was a rare thing - like us kids got sick or dirty and mom ran a load so we'd have enough clothes to make it to the end of the vacation.
I plan to do the same thing. I don't have enough clothes to not do laundry. My children have enough clothes that I could go several weeks at a time and never do laundry, but not dh or myself.
Me, DH & DS went for eight days last year and only packed for five days because we don't like having to pack more than two suitcases & three carry on's.
I did laundry during an afternoon break; our resort (POFQ) has lots of machines with hardly anyone using them during that time so I used two machines and was done in just over an hour. I sat and read a book while I waited and it was no sweat at all.
We go 2 times a year for 8 or 9 days each time. On day 5 or 6, I wash 3 loads of clothes while the kids swim. It really helps cut down on the amount of luggage we have to pack. I can wash, dry & fold 3 loads of laundry in an hour.....b/c I can use multiple washing machines/dryers at a time.
Have fun...we are about ready to go ourselves and our kids have NO IDEA! They are going to be shocked Saturday morning. We can't wait!!
I tend to do that too. Although Im not packing any lighter! haha I just seem to wear certain things more than once, necessitating the laundry. So I bring a travel sized tide, some dryer sheets from home and quarters and we hang out by the pool while doing the load.
