We are leaving for POP Dec. 31 :Pinkbounc . It will be me, DH, DS (5), and DNephew (12). I was wondering what types of medicine everyone packs to take with them. I'm so paranoid that someone will get sick and I want to be prepared for anything that could happen.

I'll be packing the advil (perferred analgesic/anti-swelling), and alka-seltzer. Also, I'll be bringing a Z-pack (antibiotics) along just in case. :flower:

We also brought along hubby's insulin (required to be refrigerated/we used a Styrofoam cooler and ice packs); all was well.

For me (and this is just me. 30 years old, single, regular business traveler.) I pack the same things going to Disney that I take when I'm going on a trip for work.
Neosporin with pain killer.
2 types of pain killer (Ibuprophen and Aleve for me).
Nondrowey allergy med (store brand Claritin).
Pepto-Bismal
Immodium
Tylenol PM (to help me sleep the first night. I never sleep well the first night in a new bed).
Benadryl (cause I swell up if I get bitten by spiders)
And, if it's winter, some type of throat drop. Mostly in case the allergy med takes some time to kick in.

That's gotten me through everything I've gotten on a trip with no problems.

Standard disclaimers, I've got a killer immune system so allergies and a few things that go with completely swapping my schedule around are about all I ever have to deal with whether I'm at home or traveling.

I usually pack an extra makeup bag with:

Tylenol
Tums
Imodium
Cough Drops
Blister Kit ( moleskin, scissors, etc)
Sunscreen

I usually pack the following:

Advil or Tylenol
children's Advil or Tylenol
Rolaids or Tums
children's Benadryl
bandaids
antibiotic ointment
any prescription medicines
sunscreen

If we traveled during the winter, I would probably add an OTC cold medicine too.

We pack. bandaids and antibiotic cream, tylenol, tummy and gas medicine and a cold med. good luck. Del :sunny:

z-pak
allergy meds
tums/pepto
advil
eye antibiotic (scratched my cornea once)spelling???

I`m a total hypo....

Sudafed
benadryl
claritin
zantac
flonaise
tums
immodium
pepto
tylenol
asprin
tylenol PM
cypacol
bandaids
neosporin
blyster pads
dulcolax
airborne
vitimins
calcium
and sometimes some perscription stuff just in case...

In Medicine Bag:
Children's Tylenol
Motrin
Benadryl
Robitussin
Children's Claritin
Sudafed
Similasan -- relieves earache
Aquaphor
Visine allergy formula
Robitussin Pediatric Cough and Cold
Caladryl
Sunburn Cream
Hydrocortisone cream

In Park Bag:
Sunscreen
Chapstick
Epipen (DS has a severe shellfish allergy)
Bacitracin
Bandaids
Purell

Basically, I bring everything I keep in my house regularly. I put all liquid formulas in separate sandwich bags...Children's Tylenol is sticky and leaves large, bright pink stains when it spills all over your clothes...make sure I have at least one measuring cup, and I have an index card with all the doses for the various meds for DD and DS. This might be helpful for you since you're traveling with your nephew...you may not be as familiar with what medicines he may take or what dose he would need.

Here's hoping you don't need any of this stuff...except the sunscreen and Purell!

Advil or Tylenol & sudfed for adults. And the same in children formula's.

Kae

If you take liquid pepto, be sure to close the lid VERY tight or else take the tablets instead. Ok, so I'm an idiot, but on our last trip I put all of our meds -prescription and OTC - in a ziploc and guess which one leaked! What a pink mess!!

Here's what I pack:

For grownups -
Ibuprofen (at resort and in the parks)
Immodium (ditto)
Maalox
Whatever prescription meds we happen to be taking at the time

For DD -
Children's Motrin
Cold medicine
Flonase

Pretty much the same as everyone else.

Adults:
Tylenol, Advil, Alleve (I have a bad back - have to be prepared!)
Visine
Immodium
Dramamine (got some sample packs at Target)

Children:
Motrin
Cough/Cold medicine
Benedryl
Claritin
chewable vitamins
thermometer

First Aid:
Band Aids
moleskin
scissors (blunt tip)
antibiotic cream for scrapes
anti-itch cream for bug bites

I have to say we have never needed any sort of first aid stuff but I will continue to bring it anyway! We stopped in First Aid at AK one day and they were lovely - I got some moleskin for my foot and the nurse gave DS some paper towels to soak up the excess water in his shoes. It was POURING rain and all of our shoes were soaked.

The joke in my family is that i can cure 90% of what ails you with three meds--Tylenol, Tums, and Benedryl. I take those three on vacation, along with some bandaids and hand sanitizer and we're good to go. Of course my DH has to haul his meds in a bucket, but almost anything else we need I can pick up in a resort or make a run to Walmart.

Here is what I bring:

Travel size aleve or advil; Rx zyrtec for me; Tylenol PM for sleepnessless; rhinocort for me; bandaids; neosporin; aspirin for DH ( he will not take anythin else); OTC afrin nasal spray to help fight off the after the vacation sinus infection that I sometimes get (recmd by my allergist); vitamins; pepto tablets; & airborne. Yes, I always seem to be the pack mule, I bring it on myself.
