Please help! I have many packing lists to choose from that list the usual things to pack for WDW and the cruise, but I need one that also lists kitchen essentials (food, etc.) I had one that we used for our Dec. 2003 WDW trip, but of course, when we returned, I threw it away because it was used! I see how stupid that was now because I have no idea whose web site I printed it from. It was 2-3 pages long and included everything from his/hers clothes to toiletries to kitchen stuff.

Please help if you know where I can get another one. I am compiling my own checklist on MS Word and I want to make sure I don't leave anything out! I'll be glad to share the completed one as soon as it's done!

THANKS BUNCHES!!!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!! RobinMarie!

That was the one I used in December!! You are the best!! I have put it on my favorites so it will be ready to use in May for our week at Cocoa Beach before we leave on the May 8 Western cruise!

Thanks again!!

I understand that most people don't share my minimalist approach to packing, but I think some of the things on that list are just ridiculous. Who's going to bring their own toilet paper and blankets on a cruise? What would anyone do with rubber bands? Five categories of shoes? Is there a difference between pool shoes and flip-flops? Silly, silly, silly!

LOL
Some of the lists do seem way too long/extensive- even for me and I'm known to bring just about everything I can think of- just in case.. including medicine, etc. I just use the lists as a list to go down deciding what I'll bring- to help me not forget something I might not have thought about- but there's no way I could bring everything on the lists!

I would suggest that you look at the list, then draw a line thru all the nonsense. After 9 DCL cruises, I still take WAY too much stuff, and that's after I pull out half of it. The best place to eliminate stuff is in heavy, bulky things like shoes! How many do you really need? I think that one pair of black sandals will go with my shorts and also with my formal! Since I work out, I do need shoes for that, but I wear them onto the ship to avoid packing them.

The biggies to save money on are suncreeen, after sun lotion, and film. These are available on the ship, but at premium prices.

The big DO NOT FORGET are documents and medications.

Pack your clothes, then take 1/2 of them out.

You're Welcome You're Welcome You're Welcome!

There are boxes next to each item, I check the item I want to pack and later cross it out as it is packed. It is designed to include everything you would WANT, not everything you would NEED.

Happy packing!

Hi RobinMarie

Great list! Can you imagine someone bringing all that stuff on one trip? You'd need to book a stateroom just for all your stuff & then one for your family! LOL!

My DD is a shoe nut. We call her "Imelda"! The hardest thing for her to do is not bring all her shoes. We limit her to 3 pr- sneaks to wear, 1 pr. dress + 1 pair sandals to pack.

We are getting better as a family, reducing our baggage & clothes brought on trips- expecially cruises, but we still bring too much... I don't want to be forced to do laundry, but I always ending doing at least one load on the cruise.

That's funny! I am not a big shoe/pocketbook person but my 6 yo dd is! I swear she was born with it because she has been into shoes and pocketbooks since before she could talk!

I can't even imagine the horror she will be in when I tell her it's one pair of dress shoes, one pair of sneakers and one pair of sandals.

I think that list is a great "starter" - because the reason I wanted it was not for the cruise itself but for the week we will spend at Cocoa Beach before the cruise (you know, just relaxing on the beach, sightseeing, going for day trips to WDW, etc). We will arrive May 1 and don't board the ship until May 8 and we plan to do cheap meals in the motel room with the micro/fridge units and save $$$ to have more to spend on the ship!! I was afraid I would forget some essential "kitchen" items (just like me to forget the salt and pepper or paper plates). We will of course leave those items in the truck before we sail!

RobinMarie - you helped me more than you will know. I marked off all the things I won't carry and added those that are pertinent to our trip. I believe in being prepared and not having to purchase what we can bring from home!

Thanks again!
