Link doesn't work:worried:
I goofed on the link to the princess patterns!!!
I am SOOOOO sorry!!! I was in a hurry this morning to get out the door to church and typed it wrong. It should be www.sewingpatterns4less.com.
SORRY!!!!!

MY BIG GIVE OUTFIT

Right now, it is just pinned in the back. I put button holes on the back so that they can adjust the straps to the right length. I don't have my little model here to try it on (nor do I think that HE would cooperate).

This is soooo cute. I am saving a Cinderella pillowcase for when i am brave enough to try something with this many fabrics. You did such a good job coordinating them!!

I've been working on this for far too long this weekend. I made a few VERY time consuming mistakes on it. It takes so long to rip stuff out. Then I wanted to make the top long enough as my DD(5) doesn't like the waist band at her waist. The first top I made her a few months ago I made too short so I didn't want to make that mistake again and made this one a few inches too long-its a bit snug on the hips. Good thing I made it so that the side seams are not sewn on the red dot trim of the top.

I wish I had added a strip that was ungathered to the top of the book panels so it was easier to see them.

I made the top with a size 6 Simply Sweet and used a size 3 straps and they still seem a bit too long.

I would think this is the front of the top but DD likes the Pluto side better.

Just a suggestion that might fix the length problem with the top. If you have extra fabric you could take off the red banding and add a ruffle instead. It would make it looser in the hips. I think it looks great as it is, but if you DD is anything like mine you won't hear the end of it if it bugs her.

That came out soooo cute! I wish that I could think of something to do for my boys with those story books! When I saw Mickey on the back, I thought it was odd, but now that you mention it, I bet my guys would pick Pluto too!

I have some more pics for you all. The monkey outfit with the circle neck, I made today. I used Carla's pant pattern for the shorts
IrelandandLexieChristmas20072420.jpg

Now this outfit...I don't like. I don't like the way it fits..too blousy in the middle..poor lex looks pregnant. It's the bubble top with the skort. I don't like either pattern and will not be using them again...:(

Lex was doing the twist...LOL. The only positive thing about the skirt pattern was the way the shorts connected..it was a neat and time saving idea. Otherwise..nah..not for me.

I agree - how can we think of something for boys and the storybook - I got a buzz lightyear one on clearance at wallyworld -but how can I use it??? i also have an ariel one that was for $5 if anyone would like to buy it, my neice now wants one with all the princesses, not just ariel!!!!! oh well - or if anyone would like to trade princesses for ariel, I'd be up for that too!!!::yes::

I love this..it's really cute. I love bright colors. The skirt and top came out really cute. I agree with the other poster. I would cut off the perfect red hem that you put on...:worried: and add a ruffle. It would bring the top up shorter so it wouldn't be on her hips, and might fit her better. If she's comfortable with it, then I would leave it. My girls pull at their clothes all the time and if something is the slightest bit snug, they complain. But I love how it came out!

I FOUND THE DISCONTINUED PRINCESS DRESS PATTERNS FROM SIMPLICITY!!!

www.sewingpatternsforless.com has 3 different ones for like 5 dollars each!!! I just ordered 2 and shipping was only 2 dollars!!!

Even with the link that is fixed, I 'm having trouble navigating that sight?? Can you help and show me which ones are for the princess patterns?

I finally have a photo to post...
This a top that Alexis will be wearing with a navy blue with white fluff petti. I was inspired by a top I saw on :wizard: last year. I bought the Disney cruise line jacket and hung on to it ever since.

Ignore the white petti...I think the Navy blue one will look a lot better..

We have a version of this one too! My daughter wore it to her Daddy's retirement dinner, and then again to her big brothers talent show. I plan on her wearing it to a huge party at my sisters country club for the Fourth of July. We will try out the navy colored petti then because I am a wee bit intimidated by her being outside for the fireworks and wearing all white!!

This is why we are such huge Navy fans...My Grandfather:)

She didn't actually say it was tight but it seemed a bit snug to me. I was thinking I might cut the bottom off just below the panel and add the band to that. I don't think the band is tight because I made a front band and back band with slits at the side.

Thanks! Who knows what she'll actually decide to wear to Chef Mickey's but I'm betting Pluto as she tends to know what she likes.

Love the Monkey round neck!

I bought my DD(9) that pink flamingo fabric. Could you take it apart and make the top detached? The skort is so cute and I love that fabric!

boy your Grandfather, must have broken a bunch of hearts. He was a handsome man. When I saw this oufit last year, I knew I had to make it. I was soooo worried about cutting up that DCL jacket...OMGosh! I'm pleased with how it came out. I bought the braiding for the bottom, but decided against it. I gave up with trying to figure out the collar...(must have been all of my cold medicine) I just couldn't do it, so I made the closure in the back instead. The woman who makes these outfits does such an amazing job...She must look forever for the right trims, and uniforms, and buttons. Her outfits are truly stunning, and I would be broke if I had anyone in the military in my family, because I'd just have to buy one of hers...
I was a little worried about the all white too, that's why I bought the navy petti...I just hope it fits. Now I have to make another for Ireland...

Oh...I was hard to tell. I did wonder how she got in it.

I had her do a few back flips off of the top bunk bed, and I held it open near the floor...and one swan dive later, she was in..:rotfl2: and hey look! No deoderant marks..LOL

Could you maybe use the panels as pants legs & the back of a camp shirt? Or you could use a couple of the panels as big appliques on jeans legs & then one on a t-shirt.

I so remember those from last year! They were so cute. These are just as adorable though. Great job girls!

I had this serger YEARS ago. It was my first serger, I killed it and it scared me off sergers for years. It is very basic and hard to thread. All I could get it to do was serg, not gather. You may be better off just using the zigzag on your sewing machine.

There are lots of other ways to gather-I think there is a link in Teresa first post.

Well I wasn't looking to sew or do gathering with it, I wanted it to finish off a strip of fabric just like the one in this picture.
ruffle.jpg

Not the gathering just finishing the edge to be able to make a ruffle. I know there is another way to do it that would land a similar result....but being able to do it this way just seemed a lot easier and less time consuming. I did buy the ruffler for my machine, just waiting for it to get here.

I like the skirt. I think it looks really cute. I bought the same pattern because Jenna has a bad habit of sitting like a boy all the time. The top looks like maybe it would be cuter if it wasn't so loose around the middle.

Here's one-http://www.sewingpatterns4less.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=79_85&products_id=248

:lmao: She could do that not feeling well?:rotfl:

Hmm- I had been wondering about making pants with them - what do you think? I am askeered to make a bowling shirt!!! where does everyone get that sweatshirt looking pattern from????? would that work at all???? My Tim is just crushed when I make things for his sisters and not him - lol!! What a sweetie - Today in church all 3 of the little kids were wearing outfits I had made them, and the 2 big kids were wearing the tie dyed camp promise tshirts I had made them for our trip next week - i was thrilled!!!

I went to simplicity and then costumes. the envelopes are pink so they are easy to spot once you get there. I think they were in the first few pages. There was also a jasmine costume pattern further on in the list
