I am so jealous of those who are finding the clearance fabric at their wal mart, and it was so sweet of someone to offer to pick up the teal mickey heads for someone else!

And I am usually the first person to roll my eyes when someone says they 'deserve' a vacation, because before this thread I was always on the budget board and it is often 'I deserve this vacation even though I am in debt up to my eyeballs.' But, if you are caring for an elderly relative when no one else will, then yes, you truly do deserve a vacation. Enjoy every minute!

oh no...don't get me wrong...I know what you say about the deserve thing and I LIVE on a budget and we have no debt because of that...we have just really had a bad couple of years. We have been the ones to care for both his mother and father (both lived with us) and helped with my grandparents. His mom passed away 3 years ago, my grandfather 2 years ago. His Dad moved in with us 3 months after his mom passed. We rarely get "family" time for just the 5 of us, and I guess that is what I think we deserve, not the vacation...just time. I worry sometimes my kids have been exposed to such pain that they need to be kids...ya know?

Oh no! The summer has now begun! I can hear them downstairs now fighting over something...possilby who will be the first to push Mommy over the edge this year! No really...I am exctied about this summer! We have so much planned...But first we have to make it to Disney.


for just a minute and a slight rant. Now we take care of my FIL because let's face it the rest of the family....well...they are mean! I really have a hard time blaming them sometimes, because he IS difficult. Well, I think I discovered today that he is jealous we are going to WDW and putting him in respite care (that we are paying well over $1000! to do). So, he is trying to act all sad in front of the kids. Taking him is not an option because of his health. I am really mad at him! I NEED this vacation and will NOT feel guilty about this...I won't! Please tell me I won't! EEEEEEERRRRRRR!!! My DH deserves this time, we all deserve this time. My DH even pointed out to me today that he thinks that he is doing this to make us feel bad...but he said there is no way we can change the way things are. I mean there is a lot of family that could take care of him and NONE of them will take time out of their lives to do anything for him.

Okay...done now...have lots to do...

You do deserve this Vacation- Have a good time!! Grandpa will be fine and maybe will have a little more appreciation for you when you return!!

Awww that does sound stressfull. I am sorry you have to go through this now. It is a shame that noone else in the family will step up and help. Maybe your FIL is just afraid to go somewhere else? How old is he? You can't change your plans though, you guys deserve your trip!!!

Your son is cracking me up! All of the donuts out with a bite out of a few of them! It reminds me of the Ramona books from Beverly Cleary. She (Ramona) took one bite out of a bunch of apples because the first bite is always the best and her mom had to make applesauce with what was left. Just looking at those donuts makes me hungry though. Donuts are the only thing I've craved this pregnancy, and usually I don't really care for donuts !

You deserve the vacation! DO NOT FEEL GUILTY! Everyone needs a break and when you come back you will be more refreshed and able to take better care of him because of it. I finally uploaded my pictures from the Claire's 3rd birthday party on Saturday. Here are pictures of the storybook panel skirt I made for them to wear since it was a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme. I let my husband take some at the beginnning of the party and apparently he doesn't know to turn the camera and take some vertical too!

Here they are running to go down the big slide. We had the party at an indoor bouncy place since I couldn't deal with being pregnant and having all of those people in my house!

A few weeks ago I posted about my baby boy (also known as my dog) Oscar having seizures. I haven't posted any pictures of him in a while so I found these! Here is my little baby!

Oscar loving his auntie, my sister!

I love this picture. It shows his true nature and why I love him so much! Here he is letting Grace use him as a pillow (taken about 2 1/2 years ago). Such a good boy!

He hasn't had any more seizures so I am hopeful that maybe it will only occur very infrequently. He has acted fine since then so I am praying! The vet doesn't want to medicate him if the seizures aren't very frequent since the medicine will cause him to be sleepy - and he already sleeps 20 hours a day! Thanks to everyone who prayed for him for us, we really appreciate it!

These are about a year old but the dress is still available from Chasing Fireflies.

Ok, I take it back. I am definitely not getting better. Trying to decide whether to go to the docs tomorrow. I am pretty positive it is strep. blisters in my throat and raging headaches fit the bill. UGH!!!! B's CD release party is thurs. I really have to get better...

One of the Mothers in Kirsta's Ballet class works in a Drs. office, she was just telling me there is a virus going around where you throw up (are you), have BAD headaches and get white blisters like strep. Hope you feel better.

That was me! I don't post very often, but I lurk regularly. Actually, your dress/dresses (Your daughters are adorable in them, btw) was the inspiration for my Minnie dress. I get the Chasing Fireflies catalog, and Kohl's also carried a knockoff of the dress earlier this year. I almost tried to make it without a pattern, but then I found the Simplicity pattern that was so close that I decided to use it. You're right, the neckline is the difference, and I also didn't add the rick rack to the border.
