Really pretty.

Mine are at about 4 wks right now.

OMG....I soooo loved that fabric. When it came out we went all the way to Houston so I could get it. They had run out of the pink colorway so I had to get the white but I also got the other prints from the line. As you can see, I REALLYYYYY loved it,lol. These are from a few years ago.

What great outfits!!!!!

I am so jealous of you all's meeting in WDW you guys are going to have so much fun!

A few pages back some one I thin T-beri was looking for certain beads? check out firemountaingems.com. They have pretty good prices.

I am so tempted to just up and go to Disney by myself (for the weekend) and meet all of you....Jord, Heather, Jeanne....I tried to look up a room on the Disney website but I got a no go...they haven't posted 2009 yet.....how did you ladies book a room then??? :confused3

YES! DO IT! I am sadly off site, but hey, I'll be there! :cheer2: Heather probably hasn't booked her room yet. They'll probably come out with the 2009 rates soonish. I remember waiting for that to happen last year! It might've been August though.

(In my very best whiney voice.....) I wanna come to the party too! I'll be there the month before, but what good is being a DVC member if you can't go down 2 months in a row??? :confused3

O.k. now I'm getting really jealous! I can't go in February because we'll be there in January celebrating Drew's b-day. Maybe I could get my family to go home without me and I could stay an extra week!!!! Probably not, huh.

But seriously, if you ladies get to go to DW together and you'll all lose weight too!?!?!?!?!?! I'll just pass out with envy.

When are you going in January?? I'll be there from the 3-9th!

Have you looked at machines yet? Do you have any idea what you are wanting? I looked and looked all over KC and I really did think that the ladies at Missouri Sewing Machine company knew the most about their machines. I loved some of the Huskvarna's at JoAnne in that sewing machine spot that the lady who owns Harpers owns too, but MSC had Janome brand and I got a Janome with the same features as the Huskvarna I was looking at for $800 less! I really love my sewing machine and it is hundreds less now than it was when I bought it.

I haven't looked at machines yet - I had thought about going to Missouri Sewing Machine, though. Just need to find the time.

The machine I have is a Husquvarna and it was my first machine. I love it - it sews really nicely and I know it would be an easy fix - just go buy a new pedal, probably. But I also feel that I've "outgrown" it. It's pretty basic. But I know it, if that makes sense! It's a little scary to think about learning a new machine! So I'm a little torn. I think once I start looking at new machines, the excitement will take over the fear!

How is FL in Jan? Now that we are DVC member ( Do you like being a DVC member?) we were talking yesterday about after next yr starting to have our trips in the end of Jan since it is miserable in Chicago then. This yr we go in Nov ad I think we are doing annual passes and going again the 1ts week of Nov for Nikki's 10th bday in 2010.

Hi everyone. I have been MIA for a while now. After my Disney trip in April, the month of May was crazy. I have not sewed one bit since then. My life has been turned upside down. My father unexpectedly passed away May 24 while my parents were vacationing in Cancun. :sad1: It was horrible. It still is horrible. We are a close family, and I miss him horribly. He had a heart attack while snorkling. It was a mess getting him home, but we are slowly healing with God's help.

I tried to catch up, but it is nearly impossible, and I give up. :goodvibes I hope you guys will remember my family in your prayers. My mother is having a horrible time, and I wish I could give her comfort, but I have no words other than the comfort of him being with God. Of course, that is a biggie, but it doesn't heal the hurt immediately.

I know I am rambling, but I have missed you guys, and all of you are so nice, I know that you will remember my family. I hope to get back in the swing of things soon, but I have been in such shock, I don't know my right from my left.

I hope all of you are doing well, and on a positive note, I may have talked my mom into a Thanksgiving Disney trip to take her mind off of things.:yay:
Oh NO! I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. :sad2: I can't imagine how hard this must be for you. I'll be praying for you and your family.

My Mom has been in the Hospital for almost three weeks now, and almost any spare time I have has been spent with her.
I did put the clickable link in my signature though.
I think this is such a great thing to do!:)

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, Tom. I will pray for her, too.

Sending my sympathies your way at this time of grieving for the untimely loss of your father. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

Tom - I will be praying for you and your family. I pray she gets better with each passing day.

Florida in January is really very pleasant. The past couple of years DH and I have been going in September, but I said to Jim just last week that I think I want to move one of our trips back to January.

I actually have 2 (maybe 3) trips planned between September and February. The one is September is just DH and I, then January with my DH's sisters (maybe all 12 of them
including in-laws) and then, if I'm so lucky to get the nod..... I might be going in Febraury to meet the Disboutiquer fam!

Yes! Owning DVC is a GOOD THING!!

Big Give - GoofyDoo Family UPDATE

We still have several spots open for the GoofyDoo Big Give. I realize that the short shipping time is a real problem for lots of people (completely understandable). I'm wondering if it would make a difference if we move the shipping date back to July 21st and asked that anyone shipping later than the 15th to make sure they ship by priority mail? Would that help more to be able to participate?

If you haven't had a chance to check things out - here is a direct link to the GoofyDoo's big give info

If you're able to help at all, please consider helping to make extra magic for this family. Thanks, guys!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you get that trip with your mom: we would love to help you plan customs!

Cute bags! I really like the one for your mom.

Wow, that is beautiful fabric. I love the different things you did with it!

I definitely need a book to tackle a traditional tissue paper pattern! I love CarlaC's patterns. I've been making her pants with great results. My girls are swimmers so I've been buying beach towels and turning them into pants for them to wear to meets and to and from practice. I tried her raglan pattern to make a top out of towels and it just didn't work. I'm determined to make them tops to go with their towel pants but just haven't figured how to do it. After I master the towels, I am going to work on our clothes for our trip to Disney Land.:lovestruc

Oh please show us the pants! I do think the raglan top isn't working because the terry cloth isn't stretchy enough. Maybe the peasant top would work.

Hey you guys!!!!! Sorry - I was having a Goonies moment! Seriously, though - I wanna go to WDW in Feb now to meet all of you! Trying to convince DH may be rather difficult though!

I have nothing new to post because my machine is BUSTED! Really I think I just need a new pedal/plug in thingamajig (it's not making a good connection and keeps turning off.) BUT since my birthday is this month, I'm heavily hinting to DH that a new (and better, LOL) machine would be a perfect gift. Well, that and now a Feb. trip to Disney! Hey, I can dream big, right. It is, afterall, a momentous bday - 30 on the 30th!

So, I may have to do some scrapbooking! LOL! Maybe I can start scrappin our trip from Dec!

Sorry about your machine: I hope you can get it fixed or (better yet) get a new one! I haven't scrapped since I started sewing and feel some guilt pangs about it. I used to make one book for each year since the kids were born and the last completed one is 2006, not to mention the Disney vacations that are unscrapped.

It came out cute! I am making the little girl one and I wasn't sure how far to space the pencils. Did you do 1 inch like for the crayons or a smaller distance? I was going to make in the am but I just found out last night I have to work. I need to go in anyway, they shorted me 4 hours on my check!

Yea, I did the pencils 1 inch and the first and last 1.5 inches. I shortened the length as I only had 12 crayon twistables (to 13inches I think) and increased the height (to 8.5 inches I think). I didnt do pencil crayons though, I bought the crayon twistables since they dont need to be sharpened

I am waiting for my online fabric order to be mail (still waiting after 5days the orders just says processing!!!!:confused3 at Joann's) but do you think if I mail the package one day shipping , can I then participate? is just a matter of few hours of sewing and then mailing, please let me know as I want to participate but is just the timeframe is tight for me....

I had a questions about sewing with elastic thread? I want to make a sundress for DD, but I've never sew with this before. Any tips before I start??

ETA: Duh! I just checked the bookmarks and there's lots of info, time for another cup'o'joe I think!!!

Teresa/Heather Hope your grandma is OK (prayers said)

Tom : I will say a prayer for your mom today, :grouphug: we went thru the same thing with my mother in law, and at the end she died of an infection she caught in the hospital from an open sore (keep an eye on those)...

TSNCS: just wanted to let you know that I am sorry for your loss and to send you a  to you and your family, will be also in my prayers

Linnette

Thanks! I know that most of the time she didn't even know I was there, but I didn't want her to wake up, and not know exactily where she was. The hospital is about 1 1/2 hours away, so between work, and the hospital, I feel like I have lived on the road.

Mom had congestive heart failure and some TIAs (mini strokes). She has lost her ability to swallow and speak clearly, but I can still understand her at times. She had a PEG tube put in today, so at least she can get some nourishment. Won't go into all the details, but we thought that we were going to lose her a few times. She is doing a little better, but she still has her moments.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate them all!

Thoughts and prayers for both of your families during your tough times.

Tom, I hope your Mom gets better. Be very careful with your driving. Working and traveling like that is going to make you tired, so be careful!

Has any one done the ehow pettiskirt?
http://www.ehow.com/how_2267710_sew-boutique-style-pettiskirt.html

It has all the calculations so I can make it for mydd or at least what to do to figure out how much yardage I need but it looks like it is only one layer? Should i double it since I want 2 layers? Or am I missing something?

I checked out the Martha one but it didn't give the calculations for making the skirt for a bigger girl it was for a baby. Maybe I missed how to calculate the yardage for a bigger girl there too?

I figured out how long and wide each strip should be but I sent the info to my mom to figure out how much yardage I really need since I am VERY mathematically challenged!
