I have debated on whether or not I could contribute to the MAW Big give, but I don't think I could make the deadline. (Jeesh, I have about 5 other waiting things to do on my mental checklist that I can't even get done! )

My Mom has been in the Hospital for almost three weeks now, and almost any spare time I have has been spent with her.
I did put the clickable link in my signature though.
I think this is such a great thing to do!:)

I will be praying for your mom and your family. I hope things work out for the best.

Hi everyone. I have been MIA for a while now. After my Disney trip in April, the month of May was crazy. I have not sewed one bit since then. My life has been turned upside down. My father unexpectedly passed away May 24 while my parents were vacationing in Cancun. :sad1: It was horrible. It still is horrible. We are a close family, and I miss him horribly. He had a heart attack while snorkling. It was a mess getting him home, but we are slowly healing with God's help.

I tried to catch up, but it is nearly impossible, and I give up. :goodvibes I hope you guys will remember my family in your prayers. My mother is having a horrible time, and I wish I could give her comfort, but I have no words other than the comfort of him being with God. Of course, that is a biggie, but it doesn't heal the hurt immediately.

I know I am rambling, but I have missed you guys, and all of you are so nice, I know that you will remember my family. I hope to get back in the swing of things soon, but I have been in such shock, I don't know my right from my left.

I hope all of you are doing well, and on a positive note, I may have talked my mom into a Thanksgiving Disney trip to take her mind off of things.:yay:

I am so sorry for your loss. Your family will be in my prayers

OMG....I soooo loved that fabric. When it came out we went all the way to Houston so I could get it. They had run out of the pink colorway so I had to get the white but I also got the other prints from the line. As you can see, I REALLYYYYY loved it,lol. These are from a few years ago.

Those outfits are adorable! You are making me want to cut up my duvet cover! Between the paisley and the polka dots, I could make a lot of cute outfits. hmmm...

Wow. This is tough. I can't even imagine what your mom and you must be going through. There is something so difficult when you lose someone so unexpectedly. Your family will be in my prayers.

Will your girls be going with you guys on your November trip or is this just a mom/daughter trip. Either way it sounds magical!

Tom, I will be praying for your mother and your family.

Oh my, I am so sorry! I will be praying. My father passed away suddenly 2 1/2 years ago, we were on the disney cruise (not him) but got back and told to hurry up to Ohio, he thankfully made it until I got there. I know how hard it is and will say extra prayers for you and your family too!

How cute! I thought about looking online real quick for some but better not spend any more $ today!

Oh my! I have seen some of these pants and loved them! Can you share with us?

Now you have me curious. It's been a few years so it may not be available anymore but I think I'll go check.

I will be praying for your mom and your family. I hope things work out for the best.

LOL, That top set ws definately one my most popular. I'd love to find the rose print in the pink colorway. That would make really cute summer dresses.

Superbowl Schmuperbowl. We can watch it at ESPN on boardwalk. Tiffani I am very sorry about your dad we will be thinking of you and we will be here when you come back.
The raglan top is for knitswhich are stretchy so maybe the towel fabric is too thick and not stretchy enough. That would be my guess
Okay who else can get away in February?

Thank you guys for your sympathy, I appreciate it. The trip in Nov. will be me and the girls and my mom. If I can save the money. I am hoping. I just want to get away. But, there is no escape from the reality of it. That is the sad thing. But, if I have the MK to look forward to, maybe I can quit thinking of how hard the holidays are going to be.

Jessica, I am sorry to hear it about your dad. It is hard to deal with death, especially when it is sudden.

Tom, I hope your mom is doing better. I will remember her in my prayers.

You guys are so supportive, it warms my heart.

Thanks! I know that most of the time she didn't even know I was there, but I didn't want her to wake up, and not know exactily where she was. The hospital is about 1 1/2 hours away, so between work, and the hospital, I feel like I have lived on the road.

Mom had congestive heart failure and some TIAs (mini strokes). She has lost her ability to swallow and speak clearly, but I can still understand her at times. She had a PEG tube put in today, so at least she can get some nourishment. Won't go into all the details, but we thought that we were going to lose her a few times. She is doing a little better, but she still has her moments.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate them all!

Tom and Tiffani, so sorry to hear about what you have been going through. I lost my mom 3 years ago and my dad 9 years ago. Both died quite young. I know how it feels to lose a parent and I know how it feels to see them suffer and struggle and fight and get better and worse and better and worse. It is hard.  hugs to you both.

I was SOOOOOO just gonna say "Superbowl Schmuperbowl"!!! Just don't tell my DH! As long as his team's not in it we should be okay. :thumbsup2 So our best option for a meet might be Sunday February 8th? Is it easier for you local yokels to be there on a weekend? :dance3:

Tiffani- I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I think taking that first holiday away from home and spending it at WDW is a great idea. I'm sure you will all be healing and adjusting for awhile. We're here for you :grouphug: :flower3:

Tom- I hope mom heals quickly. :flower3: :grouphug:

Jeanne under normal circumstances weekends are best but since there is a small window where ya'll overlap I can work around your schedules

Were you really gonna say that?

I totally was, but I thought I'd better get through all the posts before I posted so I didn't miss something. It kinda freaked me out when I read it. :lmao: I think Sunday works fine for me. Now I gotta go lose some weight :rotfl: I have motivation now. It's public knowledge now people, hold me to it! No more posting pictures of your kids eating chocolate chip cookies! *ahem*

Oh no. If you lose weight then I have to lose weight ...Gavin made chocolate chip cookies in Jr. Chef camp today. Of course he had to come home and show is what he learned...

Hey you guys!!!!! Sorry - I was having a Goonies moment! Seriously, though - I wanna go to WDW in Feb now to meet all of you! Trying to convince DH may be rather difficult though!

I have nothing new to post because my machine is BUSTED! Really I think I just need a new pedal/plug in thingamajig (it's not making a good connection and keeps turning off.) BUT since my birthday is this month, I'm heavily hinting to DH that a new (and better, LOL) machine would be a perfect gift. Well, that and now a Feb. trip to Disney! Hey, I can dream big, right. It is, afterall, a momentous bday - 30 on the 30th!

So, I may have to do some scrapbooking! LOL! Maybe I can start scrappin our trip from Dec!

Have you looked at machines yet? Do you have any idea what you are wanting? I looked and looked all over KC and I really did think that the ladies at Missouri Sewing Machine company knew the most about their machines. I loved some of the Huskvarna's at JoAnne in that sewing machine spot that the lady who owns Harpers owns too, but MSC had Janome brand and I got a Janome with the same features as the Huskvarna I was looking at for $800 less! I really love my sewing machine and it is hundreds less now than it was when I bought it.

O.k. now I'm getting really jealous! I can't go in February because we'll be there in January celebrating Drew's b-day. Maybe I could get my family to go home without me and I could stay an extra week!!!! Probably not, huh.

But seriously, if you ladies get to go to DW together and you'll all lose weight too!?!?!?!?!?! I'll just pass out with envy.

Sorry, yup the one in the bookmarks! (Is there a Doh! smiley?) :scared:

Yippee checking it out today and I may start cutting and cutting ad cutting!:rotfl2:

Here is my finished outfit. Yes she has her clothes on underneath! It was the only way I could get a picture. I don't know what happened to the photo of the back. It's a halter with a tie back. The skirt is pretty full on it's own, so I guess there are a few looks. With or without the petti. And the halter could probably be turned inside out. I like how it turned out. Kirsta will wear it to the BBQ.

Very very cute! What does it say in the Mickey head?

Of course we are! And you'd better meet me! It's all your fault you know!

That picture is soooo cute. Luke laughed and laughed and said "I think she really likes it!" Of course he was already all happy and excited because we just went out to the mailbox and got this: (what does it say about us that we grab the camera to open the mail?)

And the requested photo with Izzy:

Luke was so excited and that letter was so cute (and looooong :rotfl: ) Luke can't wait to write her back. Of course they will meet and pretend to be all shy :flower3:

What a cutie! The puppy is adorable too.
Makes me think of when my puppy was a baby. sadly at 10 I don't think he will last much longer he is getting really sick. It is breaking my heart. He has had many accidents the past 2 days which is NOT like him and he isn't eating. I told DH to prepare himself. Sorry to be a downer he is just my baby and I am a bit freaked at the thought of loosing him...

Here are some of Drew that Riley and I picked. She was having an unfortunate snaggletooth day so any that she is teeth smiling are out! I begged her to let Daddy pull that one tooth that was hanging by a thread right in the middle of the front, but it was a big no! We got some cute ones though.

Sorry so many. It's just hard to pick. Chad takes hundreds and I have to pick from them all! If I pick an outdoor of Drew I will probably have to pick an outdoor of Riley too if I want to put them together. I hate decisions.

They are gorgeous!!!! I couldn't choose they are all perfect! She looks like she is having so much fun! There would be no way I could pick a face one every one is perfect. I will say I love the one with her turned around it could be a postcard!

I finished a crayon roll up for the MAW big give #2. The pirate fabric is even glow in the dark :thumbsup2

It came out cute! I am making the little girl one and I wasn't sure how far to space the pencils. Did you do 1 inch like for the crayons or a smaller distance? I was going to make in the am but I just found out last night I have to work. I need to go in anyway, they shorted me 4 hours on my check!

Sorry to hear about your dad. that was so sudden. I hope your trip to Disney can help with kids. I will pray for your family.

Whew! You folks are tough to keep up with, both sewing and posting! :goodvibes

Anyway, here are a few bags that I have made, forgive me that they aren't Disney. :rotfl:

You all really have inspired me to get back to sewing, the machine is out and threaded. I pulled out a few dresses that I had cut out and just not put together. Of course, they were supposed to be for our trip last February, but oh well. Better late than never, right? :thumbsup2

Not disney! :scared1: :rotfl: They are really cute! I love bags. I want to make some more, but I have outfits to finish!!

they are all beautiful! So is your little model!

Please take lots of pictures of that first meeting. You can surely use that evidence when/if a wedding does take place.;)

YES pictures are a must! We need proof of the 1st meeting to show their kids!:lmao:

I made my first Peasant top-a nightgown for my oldest. My youngest wants PJ's rather than a nightgown. I think I will just put a band of the stars on the bottom of her top rather than a ruffle-must buy a ruffler!!!! Oldest wants one in white now and both white and Pooh for her AG doll.

Really cute! Great material.

Here's another source for Nylon Chiffon - slightly cheaper

Yippee I might have to break down and order some from there! I have been looking for a few days for good prices for it!

I am so sorry about your mom Tom. I pray she will feel better soon. I know in my heart she knows you are with her.

Hi everyone,
I've been "window shopping" for a while and would like to join in. My name is Laura and I have 3 great kids for whom I have started sewing. I've been making a few things from CarlaC but can't get her raglin top to work for my kids. It is too small. Has anyone had any luck with the patterns from Favorite Things patterns. I really want to try their hoodie jacket but can't make sense of the simplicity pattern that I bought. I really need to be walked thru the pattern like the patterns on youcanmakethis.com. Will the Favorite things pattern work for a beginner? Are there any other places to go for a hoodie jacket pattern? Thanks so much!
Welcome!

I am so sorry about your dad that is awful. When my dad passed my mom had an awful time I remember her crying and getting mad at my dad for leaving her a month before her 40th bday. Something I learned since loosing my dad is that sadly it doesn't get easier with time but you get used to them not being there.

Yeah on your trip! I will e there the week before Thanksgiving!

Prayers said.... I lost my dad quickly and unexpectedly too...and also had to deal with the mess of getting him from Florida to Mass so I know what you are going through. Hope you are getting some downtime to grieve properly.
