Packed & Moved..Disboutiquers Part 6 Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes we sew

Since you all are so smart and fun and don't mind off topics a bit, what is tent camping like at Ft Wilderness? We are thinking about doing it the end of July. We have never stayed there before but enjoy going over to do fun things. I would like this trip to be more about the resort then the parks with only 1 or 2 days of actual parks, the water parks a couple of days and just hanging out.

Thanks!

The pants for the BIG GIVE are done except for the ruffle at the bottom. I am thinking yellow because the top is going to be stripes of red, white and yellow. Here they are, I used castles toothpick paint technique for the face details and it worked great (I was suprised that it was really easy!!):rotfl2:

and just for fun, I hosted my moms club 4th of july craft today and the kids made fireworks hats, so here is a pic of that.

SO so cute!

I am mad at all of you. I just found this thread and read the ENTIRE thing today. I am going to get fired. And it's all your fault! :)

Worse than that, I now have a burning desire to go to Joann's and buy tons of stuff I don't need.

I haven't sewed in...how old is my son? 2 years, except for a few small things. This thread has really inspired me to get back to it.

Thank you everyone for sharing your creations!!!

I'm going to put a bunch of stuff on photobucket so I can share mine. That is, if it's okay to share stuff I made a while ago...

Well, I hate to make you even more mad, but this is the 6th thread in this series. So, you have 5 more ENTIRE THREADS to read!!! 4 of them are 250 pages long and thread #1 is an insane number of pages long! :rotfl: No, we don't actually expect you to read all of those, I'm just joshin' yah. After all, we don't want you to get fired. You need money to buy fabric now!

Anyway, :welcome:!!! You are MORE than welcome to post pictures of old stuff. You can even post them in our photobucket album that's posted in the first thread, if you'd like.

Welcome! I wanted to say the same thing as HeatherSue, there is tons to read!

Oh, I almost forgot to post this, HeatherN got 2 of her MAW BIG GIVE outfits today! She posted pictures in her PTR!!!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1852434&goto=newpost

I love the MAW big give outfits. I can't wait until we do the next one and hope there is more time. I feel bad I didn't participate! The best was that Logan was so excited that something was for him! Big :grouphug: to everyone for being such a wonderful group.

Official "We Love CarlaC" Post:

Hey all, me again! Look what I made this morning!

She got water on the front of the shirt right before I took pictures.

DSC09913_320x480.jpg

It only took me a total of 40 minutes to make it!! That includes cutting out the pieces! I used 2 of my old t-shirts and cut the pattern out of them. I used CarlaC's "All the Rage Raglans" ebook. This is the first time I've ever worked with knits. It wasn't hard at all because the ebook gives some good tips. Plus, this was a heavier knit and it didn't curl up like some lighter weight ones probably would.

I thought we'd take pictures in the bathroom, to change things up a bit! :rotfl:

This one is just for Luke. Tessa thought he'd think she looked cool.

DSC09918_360x480.jpg

I love Tessa's hair! I can't believe how cute that t is! I might have to check that pattern out. I have plenty of old shirts I could cut up and would be good practice with knits (although I am just not interested in really sewing with them).

You are sweet but like I have said before we are in it for our own selfish reasons. Which honestly may have come true without us being involved with fostering. I have always thought in my heart our baby would come from a phone call unrelated to CPS and I got one of those calls yesterday. Someone whose DD is pregnant and they are looking at options and know we have a lot of love to give a baby. Those of you that pray say a few for me, I am going to talk to an Emom in a few weeks. I am not even for certain that she is going to put the baby/ or BABIES up for adoption but there is a definate chance. And from what we have been told I do not think she can handle it all because she also has another little one. We would no nothing for sure until Feb but it would or could be so worth the wait. :goodvibes I keep wondering if this E mom is the reason for it all.

Anyway D we have no idea how long we will have him for. We were told initially Dec or next June. There is a family member that changed thier minds about taking him though and the judge could send him there if the initial checks turn out well. So no we have no clue how long he will be here lol. We are taking it one day at a time and just adoring him while he is here. We have decided though if we stay in we will only be taking infants and only one at a time it is what we can handle without a doubt and what we enjoy. :goodvibes Well minus my lack of sleep lol.

I hope you can enjoy him while you have him and will pray about your situation. You are such an inspiration and I am so glad you decided to not get out of fostering (atleast for now). What you do is so wonderful. I hope one day that we can do the same, sadly enough, I feel selfish right now and want to wait until Dallas is a bit older to start something like that.

Jessica I love your piglet outfit! So adorable. The prints for the pants are so cute.

Thank you! I have tons of disney fabric stashed and pulled it out from that. I actually sold about 30 yards the other day and ended up turning around and buying about 25 yesterday at walmart!

Here is my latest And i have aHUGE thanks to Wendy for this one!!!!!!!:cheer2:

As I said i actually did the button holes:cool1: they weren't as hard as I thought! Next time though I think i will make one big button on this pattern. I know the way the button lays is wrong but I screwed up on the back part of the dres hence why I am not letting you all see it:rotfl: I was think I needed to make the pattern bigger so i made the neck part bigger ad did it wrong! by the tim eI realized it part of the back was already on and sewed really well so it wasn't coming off! The front came out better.

You can't see it in the picture but the light pink material has silver sparkles running through it.

That is so cute. I love both those fabrics and they just shout Princess Aurora to me! I would love some day to make an outfit with her using them.

First let me comment...

Thanks to you both karebear and Linette for the snickers salad recipes. I've already written them both down. Thank you!

Cindee, I love the petti and the red, white and blue dress. Congrats on Morgan's anniversary.

disneylovinfamily - those Alice pants are off the hook! The firework hats are great, DH even thought that they were cute.

mousetripper - I cried through the whole Big Give pre-trip report. I would LOVE to be a part of the next big give.

I finished the Lion King outfit, I got possessed by something and ended up making matching socks, a bracelet, a necklace, and even made Vegas a matching dress. It took forever to get the pictures off the card so DH managed to get them off. (So much for the mac being easier than the pc)

The socks. I don't know that I'd do them again, they don't turn out as ruffled as I wanted them to be.

The bracelet and necklace.

The show is on Sunday. Delaney's pretty excited. She's really looking forward to going. I have no idea what we're doing tomorrow but we're prepared for a picnic, I just have to make the potato salad in the morning.

I forgot! I made Dallas Wall E pants/shorts this morning! I really want to call them carpi's, but that would be girly! I LOVE the way they turned out, DH hates them! I don't care! I haven't done the shirt yet because I gotta find some spray adhesive stuff! I had another design that didn't need it but just not feeling the greatness of it so it is sitting on the ironing board.

Here is LilliAnna and Maggie in their Hannah Montana stripwork skirt. I used the YCMT pattern without the underskirt and then I added the band at the bottom. The T-shirt came from Target. I love the way the skirt turned out. It was really easy to make.

Quick question- The Pooh storybook material, I'm dying to get ahold of some of it, can it still be bought in the stores? I found some on :wizard:, but if I can find it at Walmart or somewhere local, I'd rather do that. TIA!

Just found the thread, love all the beautiful clothes.

I haven't seen those panels for sale for quite a while, but someone here might have seen them.

Thanks! I have a couple of Hancocks close by, I will check them out and see if I can find it. I'd hate to pay $5 + shipping for one panel, when I can get it cheaper locally (although that's certainly not a bad price, I'd just like more than 1 panel too). I will check them, and if I can't find any, I may PM you! Thanks!

And thanks Heather for your answer too!

Here is Mylee Mae in her Minnie Twirl. I also made one to match for her big sisters. I am thinking about adding a ruffle of with the red and white large dot.

I also made the YCMT stripwork skirt for LilliAnna to wear to DHS. SHe loves High School Musical. I am thinking about CASEing the Guitar T-shirt from the boards. It was one of the first outfits that I copies and put in my inspiration file.

Very patriotic!

Well ladies one day my life is gonna slow down and really be a part of this thread! For now it looks like I will be lurking a bit longer. We were on our way out the fostering door so to speak. Swore we were done and I got sucked back in lol. There is a big story but whatever the reason this little prince is supposed to be at our home even if it is only a few weeks. Even if it is just God saying I am not done with you here yet. God slapped me in the head Tuesday afternoon and reminded me who I am supposed to be listening too, because I initially said no to this little guy because we wanted out and got sick to my stomach that I did as soon as it was done. I am so glad I listened to my heart and that things didn't work out because he is SUCH a sweet beautiful little boy. :goodvibes
I am so excited for you guys. I sent you another PM!!!

I am mad at all of you. I just found this thread and read the ENTIRE thing today. I am going to get fired. And it's all your fault! :)

Worse than that, I now have a burning desire to go to Joann's and buy tons of stuff I don't need.

:rotfl2: LOL....WELCOME!!!!!

Isabelle's and Hannah's and Logan's outfits are AMAZING!!! Y'all are awesome!!! I'm not getting anything done for watching for new pics your all your creations!! I hope no one comes over and sees this house. I'm addicted!!! I have got to stop this madness, but it's so much fun to see the things you come up with. Y'all are so gifted!
Awww you are so sweet. I don't get much done either when I am sitting at my computer DISing. :confused3

Sorry I've been missing in action!!! Was in the hospital with pain medication(morphine) to control pain, hopefully by tomorrow I will be back to my sewing

Linnette
Oh no Linnette...I sure hope you are feeling better soon!!!!

Awwww how adorable!!!!! Love it!!!

ATTENTION PLEASE! I HAVE ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE!

I'm sitting here in tears. WHY? Because I couldn't be happier to be a a part of such a great group of gals & gent! You all make me so proud! I remember taking the "Keys To the Kingdom" tour with my DH 4 years ago. Part of that tour was describing what goes into "making magic". It's about the little things that may seem like just a little thing, but when presented to someone that wants to believe, it is TRUE MAGIC! That is exactly what we are doing! We're creating magic! And I, for one, am seeing the magic all over again by seeing the joy in this family! I tuly feel like a "custom fairy". As a matter of fact, I'm claiming that title for myself!

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled sewing! Thanks again!
Awww I love how you put it....we are creating MAGIC and it feel so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to rain on everyone's parade but I am really missing DH after 8.5 months and wish I were planning a family outing for us. I love the snicker salad idea---that will be used for DHs homecoming party as he is a chocoholic!
Awww I bet you are missing him. That has got to be tough on you and the kids. Well you know you have lots of friends on her to vent to anytime!!!

(Hey have you ever seen the show, "Army Wives"? I think it is on Lifetime).

YOU MUST POST RECIPE OF SNICKERS SALAD! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!

ATTENTION PLEASE! I HAVE ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE!

OK ladies (and gentlemen) here's is the Infamous Snicker SaladI got this recipe from a friend on another website-

6-8 green apples- chopped with skins left on
2 (or 3) jumbo snickers bars chopped into small bites
chopped pecans to your taste
1 lg cool whip - thawed
1 sm package of vanilla instant pudding
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Mix coolwhip, instant pudding powder and sweetened condensed milk- set aside.
Chop apples, put into cool whip mixture, add chopped snickers bars and pecans- coat apples and refrigerate until ready to eat. YUMMO!!!Especially when you get a piece of the snickers in with the apple and the pecan! You can use low cal or sf/ff versions of the cool whip, condensed milk and pudding to cut calories down and it will not affect the taste at all.

This is a very sweet salad. I used the ff/sf items I mentioned at it was still really sweet and really good so don't be afraid to cut down on the calories if you want to!

let me know what you think!

Sorry to hear you won't be celebrating- but I do hope you go to your neighbors at least. It's a good idea to be around people- and you'll erally enjoy yourself once you're there. :grouphug:

Sounds so yummy! i must find out if snickers are GF! My kids would flip for this!

That is so cute. I love both those fabrics and they just shout Princess Aurora to me! I would love some day to make an outfit with her using them.

Thanks! I have to tell Nikki that you said that she LOVES Aurora! She has loved her since she was a baby.
