OH, I Love it!! What a marvelous idea to use the kids heads from the Friends fabic! All I can say is "WOW"...I wish I was as talented in the applique dept as you are but....that's why I bought myself a larger field embroidery machine and gave my little 4x4 field to AliKat99, Amy! Nana

Thanks for the input on which fabric to go with! I made the third one. I'm actually making 4 of these. I have three of them half done, but I'm waiting for another measurement from my friend. This one is for my neice.

My model is in Branson at Silver Dollar City, so I can only show the shirt.

P6080624.jpg
I love the way that turned out. Very cute.:thumbsup2
WOW how threads fly! Despite the terrible set back illness, I have been quite productive (with a little help from my friends) and have finished a few things, hope to post them soon! Just wanted to peek in and say HI!

and if you are making a simply sweet top BE SURE you use the measurements for the right style. Lily's twirl top is a dress and I now have to make her a "top" WOW, 3 inches makes a BIG difference:rotfl2:

...t.
Hope you are feeling better soon. Can't wait to see pictures of what you have created.
Tomorrow is a big day at our house....:worried:
Alexis is beginning pre K...it's a 10 hour day, and I'm worried about her. I feel like it's much too long for that age, but that's what I get for putting her in the summer program. Also Ireland is going to summer camp for the first time. It's a day camp, and it's also for 10 hours a day. She will be going to Universal, some local springs, Wet N Wild, bowling, movies, ice skating...etc...she will have a blast...but poor Lexie...I made her a new outfit for the occasion, but I want to cry every time I look at it...The house will be VERY quiet tomorrow...:worried:
  Sounds like Ireland will be having lots of fun!
Ok, I have been giving out so many hugs because I guess I need one. My SIL came down from Tallahassee to job hunt and look at condos/apartments. Well, she got a job so she is moving down here in July! :cool1: But she had to go back to Tallahassee so she took the kids up to my parents where they will stay for 10 days. :worried: I miss them already. I will have to try to stay very busy; I think I have a few projects I can tackle, lol.
Wow 10 days. I bet you can get a lot done but you will miss them.
DD informed me last week after seeing some of the PPP outfits that have been posted that she wanted to be a "pirate princess" for haloween. I found this skull fabric and thought it was too perfect so i went ahead and made this:

DSC00489.jpg

It is the sisney store petti. What do you guys think? does it need something else??
Very pretty. I love that fabric and she looks adorable with that tiara.
Here's the shirt I'm working on. If I put the buttonholes one the right side for a boys shirt it will look like this and I don't like it:

I'm thinking of using the lining fabric instead. I knew when DS picked out this fabric that it would be tricky.....
DSC04363.jpg

I've got lots of both fabrics. What would you do?
Option 1: Don't worry about it make it as is with buttons holes on right (don't say that cause I won't do it ).

Option 2: Cut out a new right side placket.

Option 3: Put button holes on the left.

Option 4: Use lining for placket.

I'm not so worried about the collar as it is too small to really matter (I think???) but I do have enough lining fabric to do the collar with it too.

I am very happy with the way I cut out the sleeves so I"m not worried about those.
I like the coordinating fabric.
We LOVE JORD too!!!!!
bluemorgan.jpg

I finished this dress yesterday. This was the dress I started from the 80's pattern. I gave up trying to do it their way and did it MY way LOL.
That story about Jord is cute. I love the dress.

my husband thinks the top is too short (is for a 6.5 yrs)

2007_06160004.jpg

what you guys think? is the top too short?

Linnette
I agree with what CampbellScot said. I would add a ruffle or some yellow to the bottom of the shirt

Another CarlaC tester here! The pattern was (as one would expect from a pattern of hers!) clear and easy to follow. Everything came together perfectly. I love how it is lined, so no rough seams on the inside. I feel like a professional seamstress with this one. :

A Hawaiian-inspired bowling shirt--perfect for 'Ohana maybe? ;) I think at the very least, we need to go to the Poly and take pictures with this. I have to make DD a matching a-line now...
309542691_pJGQE-L-0.jpg
I love this shirt!

I love the CarlaC shirts!!!!
I've been stalking this thread for that pattern! I can't wait!
Oh, I lost the other shirts! Well, I love them all.
I'm anxious to get my hands on that pattern to make some shirts for Matthew for our next trip. Well, just to wear anywhere.

I also lost the photos of the minnie outfit -very cute!!

Hmm, other cute stuff too. Oh well.

I'm off to the airport shortly to pick up my very best friend. She's coming in from Ontario to help with my family while dh and I are in the hospital having this baby. I'm so excited to see her. Not to mention to be almost done with being pregnant. It's such a blessing to be pregnant but I'm so ready to be done!!!! Know what I mean?!
Anyway, Tuesday is the big day. So, if I'm away a while... that's what's up!
Wow Tuesday! Congratulations!

1. What does one do in a heat wave???....

D. Sew multiple outfits for upcoming trip

IMGP5674.jpg

E. All of the above! :faint:

Wow you did all of that in one day!! :faint:

I love the Zoe dress. Very cute!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this fabric...

 to everyone who is sending their babies off this summer. Mine will be right here. Well, the boy will stay w/ my grand while I'm at work and his Dad might take him for a week sometime during the summer.

I am starting to feel better. But I HAVE to do some work today b/c I was out all week between Gavins pink eye then Lily's pink eye then my strep. So I do not have time to tell you all how wonderful your outfits are today, but I've been skimming and seen some great stuff!! Keep up the good work. I finished up some stuff for my togs (of course Lily got an accidental dress out of the deal) I will be working on the rest tonight. I hope to have pictures by wed.

I'll keep you posted
gotta run for now...t.

Krista - I just realized you finished your top! It turned out really cute! Good job!

All the other outfits are adorable too! I sure wish I had a little girl to sew for. (not that I'd have more time in that case... but it would give me more incentive) Ethan's 'camp' shirts were cute but there's just so much you can do for a boy.

Just wanted to jump on quickly and ask for some prayers for my little Rylie! She has been sick since Wed. and is getting worse! :scared1: I have a call in to her pediatrician, so I am waiting to hear back! If you guys don't mind sending some prayers and good thoughts our way! Thanks!Mindy

Katie looks absolutely darling in her dress!!!!!! I love it!!!

She must have known we wanted to see a picture of you!!! Tell her good job! :thumbsup2

Well..I got one of the two girls off to school this morning...Alexis's Pre K won't be starting for another week. They postponed the start date to get the school ready. Ireland is off to camp without a hitch...
One question for everyone...I'm not comfortable sending her to the "water places" because she's a non-swimmer....should I just bite the bullet and send her anyway, and hope they watch her, or should I just keep her home on those days. They say they will be taking a swim test but Ireland can fool you. She can swim the length of the pool, but the minute she's tired she doesn't head for the wall, she just goes under and doesn't call for help...:scared1: I'm worried about her going to places like Wet N Wild, and going down the big water slides and not being able to swim at the bottom...What would you all do? Ireland does have a floatie vest that she loves and I'm comfortable with her swimming anywhere in that, but they aren't allowed at the water parks with her group...:(
Oh, please please please don't let her go!!! My heart is in my throat just thinking about it! As you guys know, Heather and I have known so many kids that have drowned, and one was on a school field trip. I would really keep her home on those days. I could just cry thinking about something happening to her!

Prayers are coming your way Mindy! I hope the pediatrician figures out what is wrong with her and she gets better real soon!

I am finally caught up! I have been lurking since part #4 but it took me this long to get to the end of these threads!!

I have recently started sewing for my DD, Kayla. My DS, Kyler, is so mad that I do not make him clothes as well, so I cannot wait to get my hands on Carla C's shirt pattern.

Since I am finally at the end of the thread I will show some of my creations. I am currently working on Snow White for my DD. I made another Snow White for my DD best friend, but I forgot to take pictures!!

Well, I am off to find my camera!!

Just wanted to say hi and show ya'll I have not dropped off the face of the earth again. It is 100 degreestoday and Our Ac broke! So, we tried to keep cool all day and someone came and worked on it all day and we think it is working, but it takes a while to cool your house down when it is 100 degrees outside!

I love everyone's creations! The minnie outfit is so cute, and those new shirts are great! They will be all the buzz when the patterns go for sale! I know I saw more great things, but it is too hot upstairs in the puter room so I am heading downstairs!

see everyone again soon!

What in the world!!!! It is a theme for the AC's in NC to break this year!!!!??? Hope you got it fixed...it's gonna be another hot one today!:faint:

BTW...DH killed yet another snake this weekend! He was home this time so i didn't have to call him!:lmao:

Love everyone's outfits! Wish I had more time to post and read! Look at that ticker!!!

My week:
Today: Sew like a mad woman and get all laundry done. Make baskets for teachers!
Tuesday: Last day of school for kids - have to be there for awards and such.
Wednesday: Do all of my Father in law's laundry, lable and pack for him. Start my clothes packing, last trip to grocery store.
Thursday: DH has to handle a complaint for work (on his day off!:headache: ) Go to nursing home to finish paperwork for FIL. Fininsh packing. Take FIL to doctor...ask him for meds list for the 5th time:headache:
Friday: Take dog to kennel, FIL to nursing home (TV, Oxygen, luggage, me and three kids! :headache: :headache: :headache: )...come home, pack car, leave when DH gets off work at noon:lmao: ...will never happen...he will get caught up in some drama I am sure!!! :(

:moped: We plan on driving half way on Friday then the rest on Saturday and staying offsite and maybe go to DTD Saturday night with the kids.

So...the short of it...that ticker thing lies!!!! I should have put in the date I am leaving...then I wouldn't be like this now:scared1:

As I am packing the outfits in ziplocs I am taking pictures, I'll post later.

Hope everyone has a good Monday and week!:goodvibes

Love all the outfits! You are so talented =)
I have worked at summer camp many summers, my dh also runs the one at our church. As for the swimming, i would have a talk with her about being careful and staying with her group. The water parks have many lifeguards. Also the camp counselor, SHOULD have a small group of kids to be responsible for and SHOULD be constantly counting the children and staying with them at ALL times! The water park we have been to with camp wont allow the kids to bring floaties or their own vests, but do have life vests available for use. She may be able to get one at the water park. Just talk with the camp director about your concerns! good luck, i know it is hard to let your babies go with someone else!

That dress is so cute. Jenna loves to take pictures too. When we went to WDW she had her own disposable cameras and she took lots of pictures of random walls and such for the entire trip. I can't wait to get them developed.:rotfl:

Whenever Jenna is going to be doing things like that with school I go with her. They can usually use some extra hands and then I know that my child is ok. I wouldn't be comfortable letting Jenna go without me, because she doesn't know how to swim.

That's a tough one. Do the parks have life vests they allow? If so, I'd talk with the camp director AND Ireland. Make it clear that she MUST wear a vest at all times if she wants even one toe in the water. If life vests are not an option to get from the park, I'd keep her home on those days...maybe put her in swim lessons on days she's home? I passionately believe that every child needs to know how to swim WELL and not depend on floaties or life vests. Those things can slip off, buckles or not. They give people a false sense of security. It would be good for Miss Ireland to do swim lessons. I wish I lived in Florida! I was a life guard all through college and I taught three "Polliwog" classes a week! All my kids passed on to "Minnows"!!! I'd teach both girls to swim in no time flat!::yes::

I was a life guard all through college and I taught three "Polliwog" classes a week! All my kids passed on to "Minnows"!!! I'd teach both girls to swim in no time flat!::yes::

Want to come teach mine to swim? I hate to swim & I'm not very good, but given how close we are to so many lakes the girls need to know & right now paying for lessons is not an option.
