What should I book? I am hoping the free dining will be on offer again for August next year but want to secure a room at BCV. I understand I can book one type of rate and then have the free dining code applied but what should I go for - the MYW package or the room only rate. Also if I book either and cancel before the final balance is due is my deposit refundable?

For many packages there is little or no savings over booking a la carte namely room only plus separately purchased tickets plus separately booked meals. Pricing tends to be based on the most expensive choices where choices such as which restaurant are offered.

Special packages such as free dining give you savings.

Room only reservations can typically be cancelled as little as 5 days in advance.

Be careful booking rooms since some small extra such as a round of miniature golf could be thrown in and then it becomes a package rather than room-only and the cancellation deadline comes much sooner, perhaps 45 days in advance.

After reading the following about free dining already out for the UK during the time that they've been normally doing free dining for whoever, it makes me wonder if they'll just limit to the UK next year (it's at the bottom of the page):

Yes, I'm from the UK but can not get a reservation with the free dining at the DVC resorts. These resorts have not been loaded into the system for my dates and the closing date for the free dining is looming large. I am looking to secure a room via the US booking system so that if I am unable to get it in the UK I may still possibly be able to get it through the US. I hope this makes sense

So.....let me ask you dis-pros this...If you wanted to stay say 8 nights at Swan, booked one night swan with 8 days myw PH /WP (to use co promo card..don't ask...just has to be "pkg") THEN booked remaining 7 nights room only at starwood 10k free night discount, IF package discount came out for May 07, ie May 06, free hoppers, could I get the discount for the 1 nt/hotel,
8 day myw tics ? And what are the chances, BTW, that Disney might let all of us book dining, even us red headed step children??

I could be wrong but I thought I heard that free dining was only for value & moderate resort stays.

They have it on the deluxes. When I called Disney they did say that DVC were included but just that the room allocations have not been loaded on to the system.
