Hi! This is the 1st time I have posted on the camping board! We just bought a TT last week & we are going to try and camp at the Fort in December. We got a nifty little 2005 Shadow Cruiser Fun Finder & I can't wait to try it out! :goodvibes

I booked a preferred site for Dec 15-21 and I went with the package as opposed to "room only" (or "site only" in this case!). I have seen that occasionally you can get a discount for "room only" at the campground (especially with AAA), but are package discounts ever offered?

I know the super duper discounts such as Free Dining or the "4 for 7" offered several years ago were not offered at the campsites, but some of the smaller promotions such as "free Water Park Fun & More" have been offered at the campsites.

I have never used a package at the Fort, just AAA discount, Annual Pass, and Disney Dining Experience gets me the best bang for my buck for my Ft. Wilderness trips.

We will be staying at FW for the first time in about a month. However, I can tell you when I booked the trip I had looked extensively at two options. Keep in mingd, I booked a year ago. At any rate, the cost between the option was virtualy the same (less than $100 difference. Option 1 was staying on a AAA discount at the campsite and buying our tickets separately. Option 2 was a package through AAA that includes our site, tickets, and insurance. In addition, with the package, I got lots of freebies (premier parking (?) at the parks, free mini-golf for all of us, half hour free on sea raycers, luggage tags).

Just got a partial site with a ticket (10 day hopper plus w/no expire) Tuesday for five nights (9/6 - 9/12) for $662.70 using a aaa discount by calling CRO direct. When pricing the same package online through WDW's website it came to $710. I called asking for the aaa discount for a site only and after I was quoted the discounted rate (184.70 vs 232.00 reg.), I asked if I could add a ticket and was told no problem, but it would change it to a package (with the different cancellation policy) and instead of 1 nights deposit I had to put up 515.10 immediately ( ticket price,$478 + 1 night). Don't know if I'm getting the myw package extras, the $15 Planet Hollywood coupon and the free round of mini-golf, but I figure I'm coming out ahead either way.
