FREMONT, Calif. -- A pack of angry Chihuahuas attacked a police officer who was escorting a teenager home after a traffic stop, authorities said.

The officer suffered minor injuries, including bites to his ankle, Detective Bill Veteran said.

The five Chihuahuas escaped the 17-year-old boy's home and rushed the officer in the doorway Thursday, authorities said. The teenager had been detained after the traffic incident.

The officer was treated at a hospital and returned to work less than two hours later.

Reminds me of a great old joke:

A guy walks into a bar...

First Guy: "Who owns the Doberman that was tied to the parking meter out front?"

Man at the bar: "He's mine... What's up?"

First Guy: "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid my Chihuahua just killed your Doberman."

Man at bar: "What! How could your Chihuahua do that!"

First Guy: "I think it was because he got lodged in your dog's throat!"

This is to funny.........but I can tell you from experience that those little dogs have a heart of a lion and will take on anything and anyone. I used to ride my horse past a house that had 3 of them they would come charging across the field like they had found their next meal! I used to have to turn the horse towards them and then of course they went high tailing it back home.

Reminds me of the "killer rabbit" that attacked former President Carter. And no, the police officer will never live this incident down.

This reminds me of two things. One is a quote by Eisenhower -- "What counts is not necessarily the size of the dog in the fight - it's the size of the fight in the dog." (Lord knows this is true of our Reilly, all 10 pounds of miniature poodle)

The other is this from the Grudge Match website -- A rottweiler vs. a rottweiler's weight in chihuahuas. :teeth:
