I know there are a lot of PA Dis'ers on this board. I've been searching airfare to Orlando in January. I've been getting a price from $168 - $178 RT. Is this a good price or should I keep waiting? I HATE the airfare game!

From Pittsburgh to Orlando we would either get $59 or $79 each way. Air Tran & Southwest were always the cheapest.

My friend lives in Philadelphia, and she has watched fares for over a year and the cheapest she found was $89 each way.

I think it is a good price. I'd be happy with it and would probably buy the tickets. When we flew in December 2010 we paid $95 and $99 respectively, so more than what you are pricing now. I'm curious as to where you are planning on flying out of. We usually fly out of BWI but think we might fly out of Harrisburg for our upcoming trip in June. We only live about 15 mins. from HIA and don't mind paying a little more for the convenience of a closer airport.

What airport are you using? I'm going in October for $89 each way from PHL. They started out at $169 and dropped to 119 than 99 than 89. We booked at 169 and have the credit to use for next year.

We just flew Air-Tran out of Allentown and paid $79.00 one way. It was the lowest I could find anywhere.

Are you in eastern PA?? Allegiantair flies out of ABE and has lower fares. However, in Jan their flight days are MON WED FRI SAT. Also, flights fly into the Sanford airport. Not a big deal if you're renting a car, but it doesn't allow for use of Magical Express.

We've flown with them before and have had a good experience.

We just paid $79 each way from PHL to MCO on southwest with great times. if your times are good and the airports are the same, then I would probably book it. A few years ago, we had $59 each way, but I think those days are over for now.

Were flying out of Phila. next week and we paid 200$ round trip per ticket. So I would say its a good price. Last trip we paid 189$ round trip per ticket.

I'd say anything under $200 RT is a good price. It's not worth the stress beyond that point. Have fun!

Where are you flying out of? We usually book through Southwest out of PIT for right around $200 round trip. As an added plus, Southwest doesn't have baggage fees like the rest of the airlines do.

Thanks Everyone! The prices I got are out of Harrisburg. They are comparable to the rates for Southwest without the hassle of having to go the PHL airport -- HATE it there! Honestly, I can't think off the top of my head which airlines it was, but I know more than one had the same rate. It was on the Expedia website. Thanks everyone!

Look at BWI too. When I lived in Lancaster, I flew through BWI almost exclusively. Their rates were always cheaper than PHL. They were easier to get to, they had flight times that suited me, nicer airport.

I agree, a few years ago I would be mad paying 200 for a RT flight, but now that is a pretty good deal.

We live in Lancaster and bounce back between BWI and PHI, whichever is cheaper and has a flight time that we like. If BWI isn't too far from the OP, it is a good option.

The prices are going to vary depending on when you are traveling, what day of the week and if you want a non-stop flight.

If the price you mentioned is from HIA, that's pretty good - is it a non-stop flight?? We live close to HIA, but always fly out of BWI, its almost always cheaper for us (when we want to travel), plus I want a non-stop flight. Airtran flys non-stop from HIA and the prices can be very reasonable especially if you fly mid-week, but they only have one or two flights a day, both ways and that's too risky for me.

I agree, anything under ar around $200 RT is a deal to MCO.

I fly out of ABE & have paid anywhere from $19 (not a typo!) to $134 one way to MCO in the last year & a half, and have flown there & back 4-5 times in that time frame.
