How many of you remember this? It was 17 years ago this week.I knew someone on this flight. She was a theatre student at Syracuse UNiversity..We became acquaintences when she was in a show at CanoBie Lae park where I worked..She was killed on Pan AM 103..She was seated directly above the bomb .Her mother never even had anything to bury. This was not someone I knew well, but she was someone who made an Impact..Her name was Nicole Elise Boulanger and she was 19

DHs next door neighbor (when they were children) was killed.

Gosh has it been that long? Peter Pierce was my friend Keith's best friend and college roommate. I don't know where he was sitting. I had met him once. Keith and Julie had just visited with Peter and his wife in Italy a week prior to the bombing. 17 years! amazing.

A friend from high school's younger sister (Colleen Brunner) died. She is now my neighbor and has named her dd after her sister.

Jackie

I know that name & face well. Shrewsbury, MA. Her mom has done MANY appearances on the news over the years.

Has it been 17 yrs already? wow.
:guilty:

Akerstrom, John David, 34, Medina, Ohio. American

He grew up in Macedonia and graduated from Case Western Reserve University the same year that I did. When he was a teenager, his summer job was to mow the grass at the church where we now attend. Although I never met John, I knew his parents very well. His mom is still alive and we see her occasionally. John left behind a wife and two very young children.

Such a tragic and unnecessary loss of life.

I can't believe it's been 17 years. I lived on the same floor as Amy Shapiro, freshman year at Syracuse University. I still think of her around this time of year. She was so excited to have a roommate who celebrated Christmas and together they decorated a "Channuka Bush"

I met her mom when she worked at the amusement park. When the bombing first happened they kept replaying footage of a woman at the airport falling to the ground screming my baby,my baby..That was Nicoles mom..I didn't recognize her... I was on active duty in the Marines at the time. I didn't even know Nicole died until the mid to late 90's when the Today show was doing a memorial and flashing on the pics..I saw her pic and was shocked. Look it up and it was her..She was in a show called Freedom Sings,in which they mentioned Crista McCauliffe..Ironic how she died

I also remember this event...I was stationed in Berlin at the time. PanAm Flight 103 originated in Frankfurt and had some servicemen and women from Berlin on it.

I flew out of Berlin 10 days later....alot of scared people on that plane.

I knew the older sister a young woman who died - they were either from RI or CT, close to the RI border. Their Mom never got over it. What a horrible tragedy.

Nicole Boulanger went to my high school and had a reputation as a sweet, friendly girl whom everyone just loved. They now have a scholarship in her memory.

My english teacher (at the time) parents were on it. When he spoke about it to us he was very angry that reporters showed up at his door to ask him how he felt.

I met a guy who was suppose to be on that flight over the Christmas holiday thru mutual friends. He was in the military & was suppose to go on leave & fly home for the holidays but had to delay his leave for a couple days. He kept the ticket for that flight. It's hard to believe that it has been that long. :(

I lost my next door neighboor when I was little - Alex Lowenstein. I still remember I enjoyed playing with him alot, since he had better lego sets than I did. He moved when I was six, so I never knew him as a teen. But I was stunned by the news he was on that flight. :(

My town also loss a set of twins, with the last name Coker. I never met them, but losing two brothers at the same time, can't imagine ...... :(

my dad was lucky that day, he has a receipt from the gas station the plane landed onto from five minutes before it did. everyone there died.

My cousin was one of the college students on the plane.
I will decline to give her name as we are, obviously, closely related.
Her parents are very involved with the organization that formed afterwards.
The people of Lockerbie were so extremely affected by this tragedy,
yet their love, compassion, and continued outreach to this day
is a wonderful thing. God bless each one...

My old HS principal's brother was on that flight. It's so very sad.
