I am starting to feel bad that I didn't book the Pirate and Princess Party.
We will be in WDW 1/19-26, with our 3 six year olds for the first time and I decided against getting tickets because it's our first trip and we already had alot planned before the dates for 08 came out.......Now I am second guessing.....what do you think?
Thanks, Sue

The pirate and princess party is great. They have dance parties and you get a treasure map that have X's. My kids had so much fun looking for all the treasure. I would pay the extra money just to get on all the rides too. The attendance is limited because it is a hard ticket event so you can get on the rides that are open without a wait. My husband got on space Mountain just walked right on no one in line it was great. They have awesome princess meet and greets. My girls loved dressing up and my little boy enjoyed being a pirate. The fireworks are great but I have to admit we were so busy doing other things that we missed the parade. I heard that was great too. We like to keep moving. I hope they have it again when we go next year. It is soooooooo worth the extra money.

We did it in August, but it was our 5th trip as a family to WDW. I think that a first trip is so special with all the "regular" magic, that you don't *really* have to go to a ticketed event to have an awesome trip.

We went on our first trip in feb and again in sept. ...we will go again and try to plan our trips when they have the p&p party...the parade is awesome!

I agree that for a first trip, I would NOT do a party. You will have enough to think about and do. The parties take away what could be "regular" touring time. It's a long, late night so it's good to have an easy day the day of, and then you'll need to sleep in the next day. So it kills time on two days! Trust me, we've done parties on the past 4 trips with our 4 young sons, I know this. lol

I think you made the right choice by not buying tickets. Don't second guess your smart decision!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all your advice!...and to let you in on a little secret....
I plan on convincing my husband to make this a bi-annual event(he thinks this will be our only trip ever)so hopefully they'll have the P&P part in a couple of years......
Thanks again!
Sue
