Oysters?

Is there anywhere on site that has a raw oyster bar.
We were in New Orleans last year and enjoyed these immensely?

Bloo zoo? Fultons? Epcot? anywhere

I love oysters too. It's sad that they are so hard to find most of the time. I fell in love with them at first bite, when I was about 3 years old. I think my Dad wished that he had never let me try them at that point, because I was so hooked on them that I no longer wanted to eat my shrimp. lol

Unfortunately, I don't know of any place that sells them on property. Maybe someone else does. Anyone?

Fultons does but they are Washington state Oysters. Don't expect a salty tasty oyster like you had in NaaawLens. The quarter is impossible to beat for seafood....especially Oystahs and poor boys. mmmmmm I can't wait to go back. Look out Cafe du Mond !

Does Fulton's still fly in oysters from all around the country? We ate there last in '97, and at that time they had a pretty good selection of east and west coast oysters.

I'm not sure. I just pulled up a menue from another site and it only listed Oysters from Washington State. They do not, or at least didn't in the past have a Oyster bar. There are a few reasons I don't buy them outside of a raw bar. A lot of times they are shucked in advance and set in a refrigerator topless. They loose a lot of flavor very fast. Also when a oyster is shucked by someone inexperienced they tend to cut them up a bit. There is nothing more unpleasant than a tasteless cut up raw oyster....YUCH ! If you've had good fresh ones at a raw bar you will most likely notice the difference. I still like Fultons for many of there other dishes.

I am pretty sure you would be happy with Blue Zoo at the Dolphin. Their raw bar is the most extensive. I've attached a link...

LOL well when we got in the cab and said New Orleans please the driver didn't even know what we were talking about ! Seroulsly one of the best vacations ever. The seafood is awesome, coffee is even better.

I used to love my business trips to New Orleans. Mondays were Red Beans and Rice. The rest of the week oysters.

What an awesome menue. a place where I could get real smoked salmon and raw oysters in the same setting !! As a chef I have to say I have spent very little time in NYC. When I see menues like that I realize that I'm a bit remiss in my travels. If I could just stop DW from shopping.....hmmmmm
