We just booked a trip for the end of June for 7 nights and I had a question about the OL. We were already going down next April for a cruise and just before that staying at AKV. Now that we are taking a trip before that I was thinking of getting an OL but my question was When I order one and have it delivered does that count as my one delivery for the year? Wasn't clear on how it worked. I figured that if I ordered it when I was there then I would use my one delivery and pick up when I came back in April. Thoughts?

My understanding is that the very first visit is included in the one-time membership fee. If you have a second visit during your first year, the second visit is included in the annual fee for the first year.

I'm not as sure about that - I was just reading through the site today. You might want to call them and confirm. I have trips planned for August and then next June - but if the OL is going to cost me 124 (99 for the year and then 25 for the second visit in 12 months) its that much less of a bargain.

I agree. It was one delivery/visit for free your first year of ownership, then $25/visit over that unless you purchased the more expensive plan. But I could be wrong, we've had ours for 5 years, so I don't really remember. Check the website or send an email to John or Brian there and they will give the real scoop.

How much does it cost to be a member of OWNER'S LOCKER?
There are two pieces to this puzzle. There is a one-time Membership Fee which includes your Locker, the initial delivery of your Locker to your resort and the initial pickup of your Locker when you check out. The cost of the membership Fee is $75.00.
Then there is the $99/year Standard Annual Package which includes storage in our climate controlled warehouse and one free Visit per year (additional Visits are $25 each) and the $179/year Premium Annual Package which includes storage in our climate controlled warehouse and unlimited Visits.


What is included in the OWNER'S LOCKER Membership Fee?
The Membership Fee is a one-time expense and it includes your Owner’s Locker as well as its delivery to you for your initial visit and the pickup of your Locker at the end of your initial visit. It's important to remember that you are PURCHASING your Locker and it is yours to keep.

We love both lockers and will pay the cost for the excellent service. Once you have one you cannot do without it. Just ask my DH....he thought it was stupid and not needed until we ended our first trip and he saw how much I put in it and that it would come back out again on the next trip....he just had to have one of his own...

Our OL are known as "Duffy" and "Pooh box". We love getting the text that they are waiting on us at AKL.

I have to agree, it is a little confusing. The website describes a delivery and pick up with the $75 membership fee. Then there is the $99 for the standard annual plan, which includes a delivery and pick-up. To me, it sounds like those to fees for the first year cover two delivery/pick-up cycles total.

Don't forget, if you are a DVC member, there is a 20% discount on the initial membership fee. You can link to the OL website from the DVC member website and the discount will be applied when you sign up through that link. That at least saves you $15 when you sign up.

We have had one for almost two years, and love it. The customer service is excellent!

Maybe John (owner of OL) will chime in to clarify things. Of course, it may be later this evening or tomorrow, since he is at the Epcot wine evening right now!!
