Own snorkel equipment?

We're cruising for the first time on the 4 day on December 15th. I've got a 7 year old DS, and we had planned on snorkeling at Castaway Cay and also at Blue Lagoon in Nassau (at Stingray City.)

For anyone that has done this, can you tell me if they REQUIRE the snorkel vests? Do they rent separately these vests, as well and if so how much. I planned to bring our fins, snorkels, and mask...just wasn't sure if I needed to pack vests or could I just rent them them there. Also, wasn't sure if they required the bright colored vests for safety.

Any info would be greatfully appreciated! Thanks!!!

I don't know about Blue Lagoon, but life vests are required for snorkeling at CC. However, these are available for all guests to use free of charge.

We brought our own vests they pack flat!

If you have a vest for your youngest that fits right, I would recommend bringing it.
