Wondering how the owlpost in Hogsmeade works.

Can I just bring a bunch of envelopes to have them stamped? Do they need to have a stamp on them ahead of time?

I would like to get around 20 envelopes stamped (assuming its a lower crowd - mid-week in Sept), but I will not be able to actually mail them at the time - the cards will not all be written.

From what I remember...we bought cool stamps there and then had them stamped but later mailed them from the resort (HRH)

I am not sure if you mean postage stamps (which cost) or a postmark rubber stamp (which is no cost). They will rubber stamp whatever you ask in my experience. I think as long as there is no line, they would rubber stamp as may items as you wanted. You don't actually have to have postage on your items nor do you actually have to mail them there.

I meant the rubber-stamp - think my nieces and nephews would love getting a card with the Hogsmeade postmark.

You do need to have the postage stamp on the envelope for them to rubber stamp it. The rubber stamp is the cancellation. If you don't have a postage stamp in place when they stamp the cancel, your local post office will put their own cancel stamp on top of the Hogsmede stamp. You can bring your own postage stamps or buy them at the park.

Thanks for the great tip! I'm sure our DD will want to get some postcards for her friends sent with the "Hogsmeade" mark.

I have a picture of the Owl Post and the Hogsmeade stamp at the top of this article. Its definitely a fun bonus to have at the Wizarding World. IOA also has a very elaborate post office box in the Port of Entry where you can mail letters, but they are just postmarked from Orlando and have no Universal, Islands of Adventure, or Port of Entry identification whatsoever.
