DD is 15 and still orders kids' meals, not an adventurous eater. But this time I put aside the money I would've spent on DDP in envelopes for meals. I'd like to try some nicer counter service places. Last time it seems like all I ate were chicken sandwiches on the run. this time we have ten days so we can actually sit and enjoy a CS meal. Any suggestions for each park that you enjoy? I know the Flametree BBQ in AK and I want to do lunch at BOG. We don't need anything with characters. Is there a place to view menus? In MK we eat a Dole whip for Bfast and get a second one later, lol.

throw your favorite things at me, snacks, CS places, hidden gems

In Epcot there are so many counter service options... my favorites are the bratwursts in Germany. And the sushi in Japan....

I usually use this link for menus, I find they are usually up to date

We like the taco salad at Pecos Bills in MK. Also, the ham and cheese baguette in France is so simple and delicious. My kids love Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT.

I am dying to try the waffle sandwiches at Sleepy Hallow in MK But it hasn't happened yet.

Menus can be found here: http://www.themouseforless.com/tripplanning/menus/wdw/menus.shtml

AK: Pizzafari. We like the Italian deli sandwich.

MK: Columbia Harbor House. I am dying to try the Lighthouse sandwich.
also, if you can get reservations at The Plaza, they have really good sandwiches for only slightly more than a CS restaurant. Pecos Bills is good for a burger or the taco salad. Fantastic toppings bar. We were underwhelmed with Tortuga Tavern. And I agree with wanting to try the waffle sandwiches too!

Epcot: too many to name! Avoid Electric Umbrella though.

HS: the only one we have ever done is Pizza Planet.

Also consider exploring some of the nearby resort CS. It will take more time but you have 10 days so extra time for food shouldn't be an issue.

There are lots of websites that have menus including Disney's site and wdwinfo.com. We love Columbia Harbour House and Sunshine Seasons. Your resort may also have very good CS. We love the food court at POR. Its very good. Yorkshire Co Fish Shop in Epcot is one of our favorites.

MK-Pecos Bill-BBQ pulled pork was good.

Epcot-Sunshine Seasons-lots to choose from
Norway Bakery-school bread
Sommerfest-bratwurst

Captain Cooks at the Poly had good sandwiches that were different. they also have a dole whip machine, but it was down last time we were there. :sad2:

POR will have some really good things to pick from as well. Go over to POFQ and try some beignets.

At DTD, Earl of Sandwich is a must for us. I have not tried Wolfgang Puck Express, but I hear good things about it and want to do that sometime.

As said before, the resorts will have some good selections. Since you have so much time, visit some of the resorts and see what they have to offer.

DTD - Wolfgang Puck Express, Cookes of Dublin
MK - Columbia House Harbor, Tortuga Tavern, Pinocchio Village Haus
EP - lots of choices
AK - hear good thinks about Flametree and Yak/Yeti
HS - Starring Rolls

In Epcot, Sunshine Seasons has something for everyone and you can each order from different stations. Tangierine Cafe is my favorite CS in Epcot but your daughter probably won't like anything there.

Definitely make an ADR at The Plaza in MK! It's a TS restaurant but only a few dollars more than a CS meal and it's better food and a larger portion.

We haven't had a CS meal at DHS because it all rates pretty poorly. Our only meal there was at Mama Melrose's.

I don't think we ate a CS at AK either! We did Yak & Yeti TS which was excellent (didn't try their CS version) but Pizzafari seems popular.

At MK, Columbia Harbor House is our favorite. They have very good sandwiches.

A trip to Epcot would not be complete without lunch at Yorkshire Country Fish Shop. My wife is from England and believes the fish and chips are authentic. It might be the snake bite she enjoys the most (beer topped with hard cider).

At AK, I agree that the Flame Tree BBQ is good. It seams like you get a lot for of food for your money. Yak and Yeti local cafe is good too. The side of fried rice is a favorite snack (on or off of the dining plan).

Unfortunately, I don't like much at HS. Pizza Planet is not very good. I can't give the thumbs up to any QS.

The Contemporary has a very nice food court. However, I would not make a special trip unless you were staying at there.

we're staying at POR so good to hear their food is good

we love Sunshine Seasons

thanks for all the great tips

I am determined to try a Mickey Bar this year.

At MK we like Columbia Harbor House. It has food that everyone will like.

AK Flame Tree BBQ we make a point to go every trip.

If you have extra time you might want to try the Pepper Market at CSR. You need to leave a tip but the food is good and there are many choices.

Agree with others that sunshine seasons is really top notch. I had butternut squash soup and a beet salad last time that I still think about. They really have so many options the whole family can be pleased.

what does CSR stand for?

At DTD would you recommend Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck if you had to pick one?

My favorite CS choices are -

Epcot - the fish and chips stand in England, Japan and Morocco.

AK - Yak and Yeti, Flame Tree

DHS - none really, but will eat at Starring Rolls (if open) or the Backlot Express

MK - Columbia Harbour House or Pecos Bills

DTD - Wolfgang Puck Express, I personally am not impressed with Earl of Sandwich

Resorts - Poly, WL, Contemporary, Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club, AKL

I also like to eat at the resort lounges.

I wish they'd let you see a room at each of the resorts. I've wanted to stay at the Contemporary since I was a kid

it will feel like such a treat to spend the $80 I've set aside per day for food but it will probably go fast. I am going to have breakfast in the room
