I know it's been told many time, but I need to print out instructions for overriding the AC. Thanks for posting it again.

I don't have the instructions to override the AC but when we stayed at Coronado Springs a couple of weeks ago we set the AC at 66 (we like it cold) and it stayed at 66 all week. No override required.

The instructions didn't work for me. They said to hold the power button and one of the arrow buttons down at the same time, but my thermostat didn't have a power button to hold. Supposedly, if you hold them for a few seconds, it shows override on the screen and you set the temp you want. However, I also understand that it will only override for a day or so, so you have to do it more than once.

I wish it would have worked for me. :sad1:

In order for the instructions to work, your thermostat needs to look like this.

On the thermostat, push the power button and the down arrow (button that adjusts the temp) at the exact same time. If you do this correctly, you will see the letters "bp" where the temp normally shows. You are now bypassing the sensors in the room. You can then set the temp to whatever you want and it keeps the room that cold whether you are in it or not. The maintenance man said that you might have to do this once a day as the thermostat tends to go back to sensor mode after 24 hours. We found that it stayed on bypass for a couple of days at a time. It was great to come back to a cold room or not wake up in the middle of the night in a sweat again. The CM that did this for us said it was not a problem doing this as they do it for people all the time.

I'm a little confused. Why do you bypass the ac? I thought if you set a temp., say at 68, the ac will keep the room at 68. If the temp. in the room goes higher, the ac will go back on until the temp reaches 68 again. Am I missing something? BTW - we always stay at BW - our thermostats don't look like the one pictured.

The thermostat has a room sensor that turns off the AC when it does not detect motion in the room.

You can also leave a helium balloon to just float around in the room. This way the room thinks someone is in there and stays on.

What a great idea. I'm so tired of waking up sweaty in the middle of the night at hotels.

I'm printing this out. I'll add this to my must-do tips! :rainbow:

Oh, thank you! I've been worried ever since I heard about this motion sensor issue with the CR rooms. I like to sleep very cool! Anyone know if the CR thremostats look like this? If not, I'll get a helium balloon... :thumbsup2
