There was a query with my bill so I went to Customer Services. The woman in front was complaining that she hadn't got the extra points for something she purchased.

Customer Service Lady: Yes you see - you have 300 extra here
Customer: no there should be more .....(couldn't hear this bit!)
CSL: We must look at the shelf - can you show me?

Off they went for ages and finally returned

CSL: yes I will add them on and I have phoned the back office so they will check why it's happening.
Customer: (Pulling out long receipt) Also I bought 18 yesterday so that is another 4000 points I'm due.
CSL: (looking shocked) I need to call the manager for this

I nearly fell over! 4000 points? That's £40 worth of vouchers, £120 in rewards! Whatever could be sold that offers so many extra points and why would anybody want 18 of them?

Anyway at this point I got fed up and left without my small refund, but I was till puzzled. Was it a sort of scam do you think?

How curious - I wonder how much she spent to get those points. I think she'll get £160 in deals - that's more than I spent on a Eurotunnel crossing for this summer.

Arrr my freind was going on about extra points, she buys stuff she doesn't even want or need just to bag the extra points.:rotfl2:

From what she said i think they are doing 500 extra points if you buy 2 cd's dvd's or blu rays. I think she has brought quite a few.

Of course Libby - it's 4 times the value isn't it? I forgot that.
18 CDs or DVDS - wow! That's a lot of entertainment. :rotfl:

When Tesco were doing the deal with Motorpoint we bought loads of the Internet Call headsets as they were offering an obscene amount of points on them, just to get the points, a lot of them are still in our garage in a big bin bag.

We bought a Ford S-Max with 75% of vouchers the other 25% was my old car part exchanged!

I have been selling the unwanted stuff on ebay and making the money back - it does work honestly and not a scam! :)

If any one wants an internet phone headset.........:rolleyes1

I have a Tesco clubcard credit card but I was disappointed with it for points.

We've just bought a new car and I was going to put £20K of it on my Tesco card for the points. However, there was a 2% charge for paying by card.
I rang Tesco to check how many points I would get with £20K and it worked out I would get £50! I know that's £200 of deals but it would have cost me £400 to do it. :confused3

I have a Tesco clubcard as I nip to our Tesco local but I don't do a full shop at the big Tesco as it isn't that close by. I don't really understand how it works to be honest but if I did I may be more inclined to do the big shop there instead.

I collect points (not 100's!) and it has paid for our caravan holiday with the kids every year for about 5 years. It also pays for meals out and a few days out too. As the vouchers are worth x4 the cash amount, it does work out as quite a saving.

i must be doing it wrong *** the most on a voucher ive ever had is £4!

which is why i still do the main shop at asda

Crazy! I can't get my head round loyalty points at all... I collect Nectar points at Sainsburys but don't buy products just because of points or anything. I'm one of those people who tries to stick to my list, who knows what i'd bring home otherwise

We do our monthly shop at Tesco and use Eon for our gas and electricity which give you Clubcard points too. We use our points to buy RAC cover for the car and things in store too.

My cousin uses hers for weekend hotel trips away.

we got Merlin annual passes last year with our points ... and we don't shop in tesco all the time, and there are only two of us so we don't buy lots of stuff. If you're into collecting the points moneysavingexpert.com often highlights the deals were you can actually make a profit by buying items!!
