Overhead drone photos of Shanghaî Disneyland

These are overhead photos of the construction of Shanghaî Disneyland posted by Disney & More. Appears to be lots of smog in the vicinity of the park.

Yeah, I saw these pictures a couple days ago. Beautiful park by all indicators.

China is making strides, but still has a long way to go economically, with human rights, and (evidenced here) environmentally. This Disneyland is being built in an exciting place at an exciting time.

There is lots of air pollution there from coal burning plants and motor vehicles, but having visited the region several times I can tell you the haziness in the air is frequently due to natural weather conditions. I don't know what the explanation is but the whole region around Shanghai is hazy most of the time. I read somewhere that even in the 1800s people commented on the frequent haziness of the sky in eastern China.

No matter what the cause however, I expect that the haze will give a pretty dull appearance to many of the photos and videos that you see taken in the completed park. I noticed the same thing in most people's pictures from Disneyland Paris. It's frequently cloudy there, and due to the high latitude of Paris the sun is quite low in the winter and the days are very short. Even in the summer the sun is not nearly as high over Paris in the middle of the day as it is in Orlando or Anaheim. So the vibe from pictures of DLP frequently look kind of dull and chilly.
