Overdue and Overpacked III: A Tale of Two Cities ~Last Chapter~ 8/22 Page 33

DED!!!

Three different shades of it, even. Nice to see you made it, Sneezie. But where's the birthday cake?!

Funny, you should ask. My 35th birthday is Thursday and I've already received two birthday cakes!!!

What can I say... my friends know me so well!

Bravo La!!!

This was a great read. Thanks so much for bringing us the yellow!

Thanks LaLa -it was a great TR and it actually made me think about spending more time at Universal in an upcoming trip...not the one this year, but maybe in the future.

Ty

Thanks for the great read LaLa. It's gotten me through the long months until our next trip--in 10 days. I so enjoy reading your excellent writing and hearing how much you love, enjoy and appreciate your family.

Looking forward to the next one. And give Elvis a big hug! I bet he's getting big now.:lmao:

LaLa -
I'm sure I've said it before, but in case I haven't, I think your writing is just brilliant! You always make me laugh and know just how to put us right there in the moment with you...

NOFingerNailDirt!

But truly, I thank you for sharing your family with us (yet again!), and I hope you'll be back again soon! :goodvibes

And just so you know, I'm planning on going to the WalMart bakery and requesting a cake with 'Happy Birthday Greta' on it.

Or Happy Birthday Elvis. Because he IS getting big. Must've had a birthday. We have no idea when his actual birthday is but we'll just say it coincides with Sneezie's for the heck of it.

Again, I can't thank yall enough for the sweet, sweet posts. PiscesAngel, Scrap4U, TyRy, my girl Yakkity Yak, LisaLongLash, Sneezie, and PrincessV.

First of all, there's a string of names I never thought I'd be familiar with. Just say those out loud in succession and see how many times you slap your own self with your toe afterwards. Second of all, thank yall for posting! I'm really glad yall hung in there with me and offered your encouragement and funny comments throughout the whole process. I appreciate it BIG TIME. Yall are really sweet.

Thanks LaLa - I'm feeling equal parts blue and yellow after this report. Green. Is what I am.

I don't know why but this made me laugh really hard. Kinda needed it at the time. Thanks, PrincessV.

And thanks again, everybody.

Yall rock!

Last edited by LaLa : Yesterday at 11:16 PM. Reason: WHERE THE HECK IS NM?! DIDN'T ANYBODY TELL HER I HAD A NEW ONE UP?!!!!

YES, Frick told her days ago. And I almost posted the same thing here yesterday. I can't imagine where she is. Well, yes I can. She's working with kids and making magic with music. Plus the kids have started school. She's also battling some kind of computer virus. And she may or may not have a lil' trip coming up. I will try to put out the bat signal for her. She's got to get over here ASAP!!

Oh, BTW, I tried to find the deets on Frick's toaster oven adventures to share, but I couldn't find the post. Basically, awhile back, she was enjoying some alone time in the house and decided to make herself a lil sumpin sumpin in the toaster oven. Then she proceeded to go in the other room and....I can't remember....either fell asleep or just forget. Maybe she was working on some math problems. Anyhoo, she almost burned her house down  Are you surprised?!

I am starting to head into a semi-depression, TFI. La, you need a weekender or something. Or Z better be heading back soon. Or NM needs to write a report when she returns. I NEED the funny! (Though I have found a few pretty dang entertaining TRs around here lately...) Pretty demanding for a chick who hasn't written anything since 2006, aren't I?!;)

NONE of which are good enough reasons for NM puttin' me on Ignore! It's outrageous. Preposterous. Egregious. And three other words that only ZZUB would use in actual conversation.

Not at all. Was she toasting cookies?

Well Ash, lemme tell ya. Considering the fact that there's no Disney trip on the horizon for the LaLas anytime soon, I may be in the same boat you are before too much longer. Unfortunately I don't expect NM will write another TR. She can't even respond to one, much less write one. But hopefully our buddy Z will step up and bring the Number Six. Until that time, may I suggest you peruse the DIS en Espanol board? That's always a happenin' place.

Just got back from my little Mom getaway and caught up and finished. Great tale LaLa, as always! Thanks for sharing your family and your stories with us!

Here's the toaster.

and, no... not toasting cookies. Those little black discs were crackers with cheese on top. A delicacy at the Frick house. Y'all come on over and I'll make ya some.

Oh and while I was looking for the toaster, I found a little present for Zzub.
Hi Zzub!

Your trip sounds like it was amazing, you always take us right there with you. Too bad when my husband let me know that a 10 day vacation just might be in the works for this year and I started talking to him about "Versal" and Disney he nixed it. No new parks on this one because we'll run him ragged with new things. He's going to make us go to the beach to relax after 7 days in Disney this year. I told him the LaLa's loved "Versal" and they had a slow paced vacation but he wouldn't listen. I guess I win in the end since we are going back!:goodvibes Universal AND Disney...at a slow pace:lmao: are on the next holiday. Glad your family had such a wonderful time and God Bless for an even better year until your next holiday!:goodvibes

The burnt toaster or the sock?!?!

Oh, and BORG to Tinkermamaof2 (any relation to Grammyof2?). Our April trip will be a 9-nighter and I was considering a pop over to Ersal for a couple of days, thanks to our friend La's rave reviews. But the extra days are so my lazy men can sleep in a few times and not have to "rush around so much" (oh, please!!!), so we're holding off on Ersal for now. We WILL head over there soon, though.

I really enjoyed your trip LaLa. Thanks again for all the fun you shared--and all the info I will use to help me on my trip---2 months from today!!!!

I am thinking of you today and hoping the storm doesn't cause too much damage in your neck of the woods.

As we lay in bed on the last morning, we always feel a mix of equal parts melancholy and jealousy over the fact that we’re going home and some stranger is just a roll of the housekeeper’s cart away from jumping on our beds, drooling on our pillows and peeing in our shower. That feeling is always heightened on our trips to Disney. Mainly because we feel pretty sure there’s more bed jumping, pillow drooling and shower peeing going on in those rooms than your average room.

Mental note: Learn to levitate in the shower in the next 18 days.

where he tosses us into the shower and pops us on the tail with a wet towel

Considering all the shower pee talk, this seems especially cruel.

This looks scary-good to me.

It was at that point that my husband broke it down and likened the two destinations to Coke and Pepsi. One’s better than the other and everyone has a clear favorite. But they’re both pretty darn good products and bring two similar yet distinctly different tastes to the table.

The man can be very prolific when discussing soft drinks and theme parks.

Might I share?

Disney is my Coca Cola Classic.
Universal is my Diet Pepsi.
Busch Gardens is my Ginger Ale.
Six Flags New England is milk left in the container on the counter during a heat wave in August.

[Universal is the new Ersal.

I would just like you to know that whenever I get back down there, I will not be able to look at that rotating globe without thinking, "Ah yes, Ersal Studios. LYMI La!"

And our vacation drawing board is a blank canvas. We have everything before us and we have nothing before us. We may not know when or where our next trip will be drawn up or even specifically what it may look like. But one thing is certain though. Whenever our next picture is drawn, and however it's drawn, I have every confidence in the world that it’ll be a beautiful one.

Complete with sunshine and smiling faces.

And, God willing, plenty of yellow.

:moped:

Aw CARP. I'm verklempt.

Thanks for sharing La. I'm sad it's over but so glad I got to be "part" of it.
You know in that hopefully0not-so-creepyish internet forum board sense.

Let me be the first to wish Sneezie Happy Birthday.
And just so you know, I'm planning on going to the WalMart bakery and requesting a cake with 'Happy Birthday Greta' on it.

Thank you so much! I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. I've been kinda busy fleeing a Cat 3 storm named Gustav!

Please don't give me anymore cake. I've had enough cake! Seriously!

I'm into Paula Deen's banana pudding now!

Along with a vat of Goober Grape and five pounds of Sam's Choice Indulgent (now there's an oxymoron) Trail Mix?

Well, we're back home after being run out of town by that big jerk, Gustav. It was pretty hectic and a lot of prayers were offered up. And yet again, God is good. We returned home safely to an unscathed home with nothing more than a few hours of yardwork to be done. Thank the Lord. So I'll be needing to unload some unperishables. Can't possibly eat that much junk, even while watching a Weather Channel ten hour marathon. Not that I've done that lately. Oh, who am I kidding? I've watched so much Weather Channel coverage lately that I'd rather have someone poke daggers in my eyes than watch yet another overly animated Stephanie Abrams weather update.

Oy vey!

Sneezie, I'd completely forgotten you lived in Louisiana. In fact, I had to go back and skim the first section of your TR after I read your post. We're practically neighbors, woman. And freaky evacuation borg. Glad to know you're okay and I hope you didn't come back home to any damage. Depending on where you went to ride it out, I may have actually run into you. Or passed you at some point.

Just out of curiosity, how do you feel about Fudge Rounds? Cosmic brownies?

Just got back from my little Mom getaway and caught up and finished. Great tale LaLa, as always! Thanks for sharing your family and your stories with us!

Allyson

Thanks so much Allyson. Thanks for coming along on the ride with us. It's been a whole lot of fun.

Here's the toaster.

DSC02389.jpg

FRICK! I thought you only burnt cookies and ham. Nice to see you're finally branching out and including cheese n crackers in your repetoire. You really did a number on that toaster. What'd you do, set it for five-teen minutes when you meant to set it for five? If so, that's perfectly understandable. All things considered. All joking aside, I'm really glad you're okay and you didn't burn your pretty house down, Frick! That's scary. Not as scary as the sock and the ham flavored water. But very, very close.

So what were you doing while the cheese n crackers were burning? Counting sheep?

Patti

Thanks for the sweet words, Patti. Your title made me smile huge. And a trip to the beach after seven days in Disney sounds like an AWESOME time to me. Universal or not. I hope yall have a blast. Something tells me you will.

The burnt toaster or the sock?!?!

How bad does Frick's toe lint problem have to be to produce such a funky sock?!

I really enjoyed your trip LaLa. Thanks again for all the fun you shared--and all the info I will use to help me on my trip---2 months from today!!!!

I am thinking of you today and hoping the storm doesn't cause too much damage in your neck of the woods.

Thanks, Tarheel. Obviously we're fine but there was a good bit of damage elsewhere in our neck of the woods. Unfortunately. But we're extremely grateful that, above all else, everyone's okay, and that our home was spared any damage this time. Thanks for asking about us. And have an awesome time on your trip!

LaLa, I so enjoyed your TR. Thank you for taking the time to write it!!!

To thank you, I mentioned you in my TR.

Thanks, mommytothreeboys! Glad you enjoyed the TR. I'll have to check yours out.

Six Flags New England is milk left in the container on the counter during a heat wave in August.

The same can be said for Six Flags New Orleans. Or the theme park formerly known as "Jazzland".

I would just like you to know that whenever I get back down there, I will not be able to look at that rotating globe without thinking, "Ah yes, Ersal Studios. LYMI La!"

That one made me smile. I'm not sure why.

Thanks for sharing La. I'm sad it's over but so glad I got to be "part" of it.

And I'm glad you got to be a "part" of it too, Tinkerbellarella. Even though I had to double check the spelling of your name each and every time I typed it. Your posts have made me laugh out loud on several occasions. Thanks for sharing your wit and your sweet comments throughout this process. I appreciated every one of them.

God Bless!

:moped:

Hey LaLa.......so happy you're safe!!!!!.......you were in my thoughts and prayers this weekend!!! Especially after that dismal performance by STATE

Seriously though - I am glad you didn't have any major harm or damage done......if you ever evacuate to B'ham let me know.......I'll hook you up with some Bama sleeping bags and Big Red cola!!! :flower3:

RTR!!

Lala! I'm also so happy your and all the area down there are safe! We left Florida 8/31 the day before Gustav was going to hit your area. Praise the lord he watched over you all!

Thanks for sharing your trip report with us! I've really enjoyed it! I can't wait for the next one! Zzub is prolly there now or shortly with the FD! Keepin my fingers crossed he'll start another one!

Until next time!
