I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I'd like to make a suggestion for people taking kids to WDW that might find some of the rides scary.
Our six year old is often uncertain about trying new things, he'll say he's too scared to try.
This will be his first trip to WDW. When I mentioned the names and styles of some of the rides, his reaction was - "no way, that's too scary" - this was even for rides like Goofy's Barnstormer - to him, it is still a roller coaster.
So, I tried to research on the net for pictures of the rides. What I wound up discovering is that there are many videos taken by people ON the rides. There is a website called relivethemagic.com - some of the videos can be seen online without cost, but they are trying to sell videos online.
The other method is to go to google.com and go to the "more" link, then go to "video". This is google video beta.
In the search engine, type in "WDW" - you will get some of the free videos from relivethemagic.com as well as some taken by other people.
Although it may take away from some of the surprise, for those who are scared, it can show them the ride is really quite fun.
NOW, not only is he willing to ride Barnstormer, but he's interested in Big Thunder Mountain!
Hope this helps some people out there!
