Over-rated food that you have tried...

O'Hanas; we did enjoy the dumplings and salad the rest was salty and over done. We were looking forward so much to this meal but we won't be back, it was that bad.

Everything I ate at Boma including the aforementioned zebra domes. Much of the food we tried tasted like they melted cinnamon red-hot candies and dumped it on top.

I was so stoked to try it because so many people rave about it here. I don't know if we just hit it on a bad night.

Dole Whip
Kona Coffee in the French press pot
Red snapper in potato “scales” from Monsieur Paul's

Spicy Kazan Roll. I heard so much great things about & was so excited to try it. But I really didn't think it was that great. Also LeFou's Brew , I couldn't drink it, it was making me sick.

I hate Via Napoli. It's one of the highest rated restaurants in EPCOT and I don't get why. I tried it 3 different times on my college programs and 3 for 3 i either had a rude waitress, cold food, the wrong order brought to me, or a combination of the 3.

I also have no desire to ever try a Dole Whip. I don't like Pineapple in any other food, so it just doesn't appeal to me.

Cheese Soup @ Le Cellier :crazy2:
Sunshine Seasons at Epcot :crazy2:

Dole Whip- just meh
Carrot Cake sandwich @ HS- just meh
Zebra Domes- just meh (but may have been better if they would have been cold. They were room temp on the buffet)

Anything at Erin McKenna's gluten free bakery in Disney Springs. I am gluten free and was really looking forward to eating here after hearing all the hype. The items I tried were mediocre at best.

What did you try at Erin McKenna's? Have you had the same from somewhere else, that you liked better? (For example, if you found the EK cupcakes to be mediocre, is there another brand you've tried that you did think was outstanding?)

I like the EK cinnamon sugar doughnuts, and I love the cookie sandwiches.

Zebra domes - tasted like packaged snack cakes albeit with a little rum flavor
Dole whip - I don't get the hype, it's just expensive pineapple flavored soft serve
Lunch at BOG - poor quality, like they microwaved a Costco brand frozen quiche and dumped some bagged arugula next to it. Same low quality for the tiny dessert eclair
Ooey gooey toffee cake at LTT - highly processed and overly sweet

We tried at least 3 different cupcakes, one of which was some type of cinnamon. The rest I don't remember which ones; it was last year. As far as better, I've made baked goods that have been far better, imo. I either use pamela's mix which is not gritty, or something like a flourless chocolate cake with no gf substitute. I also think the OMG it's gluten free! brownies (I've gotten at a few different places in WDW, the most recent was Sunshine Seasons) were better than the items we tried at Erin McKenna's. I had really high hopes for E McK, but it wasn't anything special for me. (or my family)

WDW is so accommodating for gluten free and I've appreciated all the offerings. E Mck just fell flat compared to how much other places offered. Plus the price was $$$!
