Is anyone else watching this prequel to Outlander?

I watched the first three episodes last night and I enjoyed it.

Was sad to see Outlander winding down, but this will be a nice continuation.

I think if you’ve seen Outlander it’s easy to follow along, but I think you could also jump in and watch it even if you haven’t.

Trailer:

Characters:

LOVE IT! I really like seeing the younger Murtaugh, Jacosta, Colom and Dougal.

It will definitely help with the Outlander blues after the final season.

I watched the first two episodes. Jury is still out. Maybe I'm just too sad that Outlander is ending :(

BUT....I do have to say that the physical/facial similarities between Sam Heughan and the actor playing Brian is pretty amazing.

I tend to keep the Closed Captioning on so I can understand what they’re saying, just like I did with the original.

I'm finding some of the accents more difficult to understand than in Outlander. It'll all come together over time.

I'm enjoying it so far.

I found the third episode more interesting than the first two that were setting us up to know the characters.

Overall the story is growing on me. I wanted to watch them over while I was in the kitchen this weekend, but I didn't cook enough to watch it. Perhaps next week.

I just finished binge watching the 7 seasons of the original show last week and now I've started on the new one.

I loved Episode 5.

Is it growing on anyone who was on the fence about it?
Yes. I love the actor who's playing Murtagh. When they showed his "heartbroken face", I was also heartbroken for him. Fantastic acting.

I'm just on the fence about the actress playing Ellen.

I am a little confused. Are they rewriting history and Colum was injured rather than ill? Or did his injury just exacerbate his condition?

Also from the original series did Claire ever have a sibling? Is it possible her sibling (and parents?) never left the 1700's?

What is it that you don’t like about her?

This is an interesting interview with Jamie Roy (Brian Fraser) about his chemistry with actresses auditioning for the part of Ellen MacKenzie.

I’m not sure about the actors playing Colum and Dougal. (Not sure it’s the actors themselves or their roles right now, lol.)
From what I’ve read I think they went a lot by their looks. Pictures side by side of current and previous actors is rather uncanny.

In Outlander I never felt Sophie Skelton was right for the part of Brianna.

I’ve wondered the same. I think (and I could be wrong) that it exacerbated his condition. He was walking funny before the horse accident.

What I’ve been reading is that, while Outlander primarily went by the books, this series is pretty wide open for interpretation since it’s new. So I think we’re in for some pretty wild occurrences and connections!

I never read the books but I think Claire wound up an only child living with her uncle. There are some theories out there now about how it played out with Claire’s parents and her sibling. We shall see!

No, Claire Beauchamp Fraser does not have a known sibling in the Outlander books or main series; however, the prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood reveals that Claire's parents were both time travelers and that her mother, Julia, was pregnant when they traveled to the past, meaning Claire may have a sibling who was born in a different time period

I can't put my finger on it, lol. Her hair is perfectly styled for a 1970's episode of Starsky and Hutch.
