Out on my 10th Cruise

Hey there! I'll be taking my 10th Disney Cruise on February 4, 2012. This will be my first cruise being out and with a partner. Was wondering if anyone else may be going? Also a little curious as what to expect. Previously I've gone with my x-wife and kids. I would expect this to be a slightly different experience! Any thoughts?

Hey neighbor! (Allentown, PA here!)

My partner and I will be doing the DVC Member's Cruise in September, so I may be able to give you more insight after that. This will be our first "non-gay" cruise, as we've done two of the Rosie cruises previuosly. I've heard of other gay friends sailing sailing on 'straight' cruises and they claim they have no problems finding other family to hang out with.

I'm sure we'll all have a great time on our respective cruises.

I am not on your cruise, but I did meet several very nice gay and lesbian couples on my cruise in MAy, no one seems to notice who is with who in the DCL Ships, at least in the adult areas. I am sure you will have as much fun on this one as you had before.

You really wont notice anything different at all. The crew and guests on DCL dont even bat an eye at same sex couples.

I will be sure to do that. I am expecting the usual excellent vacation, the experience however, will for sure be a bit different, but outstanding!

I've actually been on the Disney cruise a couple of times without my children and LOVED IT! They do a great job of maintaining the adults only areas and keeping them that way. If you love Disney, it is well worth considering.

On all of my past cruises I have been aware of gay couples sailing with us, big surprise that I would notice. I never got a sense that anyone was ever anything but gracious. I just know it will be a slightly different trip for me finally being out and with my partner. I'm very much looking forward to introducing him to "my" ship!

I've actually never been on a cruise. I was hoping to plan one for this april, but I don't think i'll be taking a disney cruise. I just have this vision of children everywhere and I'm not sure I'd enjoy that!

We've been on 3 DCL cruises and were pleasantly surprised at how little we noticed the children. The ships are set up with special areas for the children (and special adults only areas) so you really don't realize just how many children there are on board.

Oh oh oh! we are going on that cruise! Western Caribbean cruise right??
It will be our 16th anniversary, and hopefully we will have our adopted child with us.
It will be the first time we are going without our extended family, would you guys be intersted in having dinner with us? I am a little bit worry about the tablemate situation too.

It's actually quite the opposite of what you are thinking. Every cruise ship will have children on it. Disney is the only line that has the experience in seperating children from adults. In my experience I have found on the other lines the kids are running around the entire ship driving the adults nuts! On Disney they have selected areas and activities to keep the kids busy, and out of the adult areas.....

And its the little things that Disney does that makes a difference, like free soda stations.

The other lines make you pay for soda, and guess who dispenses the soda? The bartenders! So you are in a bar, trying to relax with your friends, and in come dozens of kids with their souvenir cups wanting soda! Not pretty!
